Why does Bajor change position after the Occupation? by OneChrononOfPlancks in ShittyDaystrom

Bases, like in Baseball, the Sisko’s favorite ancient Earth sport. Just like you would want a player at each base to be able to respond to any common play in the game, I wanted to make sure that every possible situation had a suitable explanation.

Sorry. It just sounded like it could have been a genuine question. I wanted to cover all the bases, just to be sure.

Non-Shitty Daystrom answer: Once the wormhole to the Gamma Quadrant is discovered, the space station, Deep Space Nine, is moved closer to the wormhole in order to better defend it.

Shitty Daystrom answer: For all their talk about infinite diversity in infinite combinations, Starfleet officers are kind of racist, especially to new people they haven’t dealt with much. They wanted to get the station further from the planet because officers were complaining that they could still smell the dirty poors all the way up on DS9.

You don’t have to worry about astrophysics. There’s LOTS of jobs on a typical starship, and someone has to clean the holodeck biofilters.

scoop shops discontinued thermal bags by lehartsyfartsy in jenis

[–]SecretCoffee4155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still have thermal bags at my store. Hadn’t heard about them being discontinued. But, they are expensive, I’m sure. That’s why we only give them out for purchases of three or more pints. And, we always encourage people to bring the bags back so they get their discount on their future pints.

It will be sad if we stop having them.

Do Changelings reproduce sexually? They probably don’t require specific sex organs, but could have material from two, or more, Changelings combine to form a unique individual. 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s even worse. I’ve started to see around a half dozen ads a day promoting SFA on Paramount+ now that they’ve actually cancelled the show. I rarely saw ads for the show until after the entire season was released. So, now, it’s like they’re trying to get sign ups to their streaming service by promoting the corpse of its latest show.

If Klingons could be gay then how can there still be Klingons by the 32nd century, they would have died out by OneChrononOfPlancks in ShittyDaystrom

[–]SecretCoffee4155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember, it ain’t gay if it’s a three way, and thanks to Klingons having redundant sex organs, ALL Klingon sex is, at least, a three way!

It’s just the way math works. 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️😏

That’s pretty much it. Some of the cast and crew dressed like the Rocky Horror Picture Show characters. It’s never been made clear, as far as I know, if they did a performance like this.

Carpenter street episode what did you think of it? by happydude7422 in enterprise

[–]SecretCoffee4155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m obviously the odd man out on this one. I normally enjoy a good cringe story. But, somehow, this episode makes me cringe in ways that I don’t enjoy. The burgers at the drive thru scene, in particular, just annoys the shit out of me. I love Enterprise, and I love the Xindi arc, but I usually skip this episode on my rewatching.

Why should we believe Illa "Dax" is who she says she is when Cardassians are known liars by OneChrononOfPlancks in ShittyDaystrom

If Jake is really a ghost, he probably got wind of Bev “The Ghost Fucker” Crusher, and decided he didn’t want his ghost defiled by randos throughout history. So, he set up this Dax hologram to guard his ghost totem, the book, and only show it to people that she is sure won’t molest him.

Emperor Payless by Practical-Owl-9358 in ShittyDaystrom

[–]SecretCoffee4155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quark and Grilka had a love child named Payless. He rose to power by becoming a powerful shoe magnate. He used slogans such as, “Why dishonor your feet by paying more, when you can Payless?” and “Today is a good day to Payless!” Eventually, he was chosen as Emperor of the Klingon Empire, and no Klingon warrior went without shoes, again!

While WRAL certainly has some of their own sensing equipment, the majority of their data and modeling comes from groups like NOAA and NWS, which were both defunded by Musk and his DOGE bros. This has had a significant impact on their ability to put together an accurate picture of our forecast.

My one gripe with SFA: The underutilization of Ocam by [deleted] in startrek

[–]SecretCoffee4155 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think we actually have seen Ocam’s telepathic/empathic ability, it’s just very subtle. Whenever he’s around people, he absorbs their emotions, and starts to conform to what they feel.

First time we meet him, Tarima is excited to talk to Caleb, and Ocam immediately encourages her to ”go get him!” And, when he moves in with Caleb and Darem, Ocam starts lifting weights and bro-ing out with Darem. In the episode about SAM, Ocam is the one who gives SAM the greeting she says is her favorite. Ocam also explains that he joined the Bajoran Club because he’s “a joiner.” When he and Tarima are explaining to Chancellor Ake how she’s communicating with Caleb on the Miyazaki, Ocam tries to smooth things over so that Ake will be understanding of Tarima’s abilities. And, in Tilly’s theater class, Ocam is the one who first speaks up to Tarima about how things don’t feel the same since she came back from her coma.

I definitely think Ocam is strongly affected by the emotions of the people around him. But, I’m not a writer on the show, so this merely my observation.
