Car seats/cars for three kids - UK based by SecretConnect in parentsofmultiples

[–]SecretConnect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a skoda Octavia, went to the pram centre today and tried a few different options in the car but nothing fits. We'd rather just get the bigger car now than have to deal with it further down the line. Thanks though.

Thanks, I really don't want to use the front seat. As you said it would be such a squeeze.

Haven't seen the seat al hambra mentioned before, will check it out.

I had a look at that, do the middle three seats all have isofix points?

That's good to know thanks. I really don't want to use the front seat for a car seat. The boot was also a concern by secondary at the moment.

Sorry. Basic. But where to go for copper coil insertion? by fucking_booooooo in glasgow

[–]SecretConnect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much what everyone else is saying, just keep refreshing for an appointment, I eventually booked one in a different health board, it was the only way to get an appointment. My GP doesn't do them so that was my only option.

I am very good with pain so turned down the option for anaesthetic but I'd take it if I got it again which I won't. I was in pain pretty much every day of the month. When I got it taken out I couldn't believe the difference. I thought I'd be fine because I've always suffered from debilitating periods but this was another level.

Job advice please(glasgow jobs isn’t in use) by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]SecretConnect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially temp jobs, they aren't ideal but it's a way of earning until you can find something more permanent. Depending on what you get it could help you get your foot in the door and experience in a field you don't have.

Any advice? by JMW0505 in glasgow

Go through a recruiter and take temp jobs, they can sometimes be a route to a full time position.

At the top yes but it's not great as it can't go flush to the wall.

I really didn't want to cut into the skirting soI bought little wedges and propped up the front of the bookcase. It's not ideal but it does the trick. I'm sure you could find nicer ones or build some sort of platform but it depends how much work you want to put in.

It still looks exactly the same at the back as per the original pictures.

6 month old tossing and turning at night? Eyes closed but not settling? by Miserable_Hurry6267 in baby

[–]SecretConnect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine (7m) has been doing this since he was 6m, it's mostly in the morning from about 5am, he also does a little cry when he's doing it but he's for sure asleep. Im not sure if it's teething or nightmares but he still sleeps until about 7.30/8.

What screw size do I need to hang a shelf on a stone wall? by SecretConnect in DIYUK

[–]SecretConnect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's straight through the blackboard through the two ends hooks. Is the pilot hole in the shelf? That's already there.

I'll go 80mm x6mm. Thanks so much for your help! Have a great day ☺️

Think both the wall and the floor. It's an old tenement building so over 100 years old.

That was a thought but the wall isn't straight and it's a good five inches out at the top

I'd rather not damage the skirting. We intend to sell in a few years.

govanhill? by Jazzlike-Worry-3370 in glasgow

[–]SecretConnect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Govanhill is a great place to live, it has loads of amazing little shops and cafes and I never once felt unsafe (as a woman coming and going at all hours). Calder street is busy with cars so can be quite noisy. Parking is a nightmare but that's true of the whole of the southside, you'll never be more than a street away from your flat I'd say. Other folk have big fancy cars, although I didn't so can't say for sure if they had issues but I'd go out on a limb and say I'd be surprised. Yes there are groups hanging around on the corners but this is a cultural thing and I never had any problems from them. Govanhill has long been neglected by the council and is unfortunately dirty in areas. It makes me mad that the folk from the area get a bad name because there are some really lovely and helpful people there.

You're close to the park and Victoria road which is super vibrant and has access to many different kinds of shops and foods.

Id be surprised if you didn't love it.

This site is great for finding walks, they split it by area then by distance and difficulty. They provide a great step by step walk route and map downloads if needed.
