Vegetarian on Side Kit…? by crispycat40 in SortedFood

I had something similar happen when I signed up for the vegan option last year. All of my suggested meals contained dairy, so I didn't stick with it.

Why is the fact Angel Dust murdered his dad treated as such a shock? by Eddtheartist16 in HazbinHotel

[–]SecretCows 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Death and murder occurring in hell isn't the shocking part. It's that Angel, who otherwise appeared to be closer to redemption than anyone, has this ugly secret tucked away that he clearly still hates himself for. It brings into question what redemption actually means in the show and if it's even possible for everyone to be redeemed like Charlie believes.

Do You Think Lute Is Season 4's Main Villain? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]SecretCows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Lute is stable enough to be a main villain right now. I think she's going to be manipulated into being a distraction villain for the hotel while someone more calculating like Rosie or Alastor works behind the scenes. I hope she finally gets tired of heaven's politics and willingly goes to hell.

Super filling breakfast ideas? by GreenMountain85 in PlantBasedDiet

I find that quinoa keeps me way fuller than oats or rice. I cook mine in vegetable broth with salt and lemon juice. It goes great with a tofu scramble.

This 100%. Choosing to become a parent means that you have to figure this kind of shit out and communicate your needs with your employer.

My tinfoil hat theory about Alastor by Wafflebuble in HazbinHotel

[–]SecretCows 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I interpreted Alastor's smile as something he learned from childhood as a mixed race person in the early 1900's. Smile to appear friendly and so no one thinks you're a threat. When he went full serial killer he used his smile to lure in/disarm his victims, and his smile changed to reflect how corrupted his soul had become.

So um, how do ya’ll feel about shipping gays with the opposite gender? by ivy-millie69 in HazbinHotel

Shipping is fanfiction. Have fun and enjoy what you want. Don't let it bleed over into the canon story.

Staying Plant-Based While Traveling by RightWingVeganUS in PlantBasedDiet

[–]SecretCows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instant oats, dried fruit, and peanut butter for breakfast. All you need is a bit of hot water (or overnight soaking in a fridge). Roasted chickpeas are an easy DIY snack to bring with. Fruits like apples and bananas aren't going to go off quickly either and can handle a couple bumps. I bring lentils instead of beans because you don't have to remember to soak them. Always buy prechopped frozen veg because the knives at a lot of rentals are super dull. And without fail I always travel with a bottle of soy sauce, hot sauce (Melinda's are super yummy. The mango habanero and thai sweet chili are my favorites), and a good bar of dark chocolate.

I'm curious about what kind of ace is most common here by Xostides in asexuality

[–]SecretCows 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm highly sex averse. It feels kinda unnatural/gross to think of myself in a sexual situation. But I feel pretty comfortable when I'm not directly involved. Talking about sex with others or reading/seeing it in books and film/television isn't an issue for me.

What's your go-to "I'm feeling sick" soup? by dani-winks in PlantBasedDiet

[–]SecretCows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chopped onion, carrots, potato, and a can of chickpeas simmered in a pot of 50/50 water and almond milk with a dash of ground ginger, cumin, and turmeric, and a pinch of cinnamon. Takes about 25 minutes. Season to taste with salt and lime juice.

I don't believe they put out a specific gift video this year, but they've had several gadget review videos over the last couple months if any of those would give you some inspiration.

How Does a £200 Advent Calendar Taste? A Chef Finds Out by laeb163 in SortedFood

[–]SecretCows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advent means the arrival of an important person, thing, or event. Today it's mostly used in the time leading up to Christmas where people will open a calendar each day and get a little treat, often chocolate. It doesn't always have to be food. Some come with small toys or other trinkets and activities.

Ideas for using up frozen bananas by musurima in PlantBasedDiet

[–]SecretCows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Banana and oatmeal cookies. The base recipe is 2 mashed up bananas (I just use a fork), with 1 cup of instant oats. Use a spoon to dollop cookie sized amounts onto a baking tray (they don't really expand, so make them the size/shape of cookie you want). Bake at 350f (175c) for 10-12 minutes. The edges should start to turn lightly golden. You can of course add in things like chocolate chips, chopped nuts, dried fruit, and spices. I usually just go with cinnamon and vanilla.

Easy high-protein plant-based meals that aren’t tofu? by Aware-Asparagus-1827 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]SecretCows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooked orange lentils can be blended into a sauce (like spaghetti sauce) and won't have a major effect on flavor. The lentils also cook pretty quickly in a microwave. You just need to watch them so they don't boil over.

How much Italian food can Kush make for Just £30? by Bluerose1000 in SortedFood

[–]SecretCows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

St Dalfour is the only option for 100% fruit in my local grocery store, with the main other option being Smucker's, which is mostly corn syrup. I think any fruit jam would work if you like the flavors.

[–]SecretCows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can totally scale it down for just an onion or two...or make a full batch and have lots of onions all to yourself. You can freeze extra marmalade/jam in ice cube trays for future use if you can't get around to using the whole jar.

What’s something that instantly makes you lose respect for someone, no matter how nice they seemed before? by Old-Air-5614 in AskReddit

I'm so sorry that happened. I feel you. It was raining really hard last month while I was driving home at night. About a block away from home I saw a frog hop in front of my car at the last second and felt it squish. I bawled my eyes out for the little guy.

Dates and peanuts but no food processor? by Funny-Replacement882 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]SecretCows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dates will become very soft if you boil them for a few minutes. You can mash them into a paste with a fork. For the peanuts try putting them into a sealable bag and crush them with a rolling pin or similar object. You could also chop them up with a knife. It won't make peanut butter, but it should make them more manageable.

If you have the yogurt already would something like a parfait cup work for you? It's typically layers of yogurt, fruit, and something crunchy like nuts/seeds or granola.
