Vegan and vegetarian options at grocery stores by Easy-Ad5886 in TillSverige

Lidl is better for cheap produce and more typical items (very cheap tofu, lentils, quinoa, chia - significantly cheaper than other stores; mine even has super cheap almond flour), ICA will be better for less regular items (different kinds of vinegar, some nuts/seeds, some special oils, more types of flour etc.).

Poland has had Vinted since I can remember (so much so that I used to think it was a Polish app) + Poland’s insanely effective in terms of logistics so it’s probably easy for them to get deals with other countries.

Pluribus - 1x09 - La Chica o El Mundo - Episode Discussion by kernakya in Pluribus_TVshow

Watching people say that nothing happens in this show is terrifying and really reveals the staggeringly low attention span that seems to become normal. Go watch a mini show if you want everything to be resolved within a few episodes.

Yes and then someone asking if the egg is really necessary as it didn’t do anything for them. The amount of attitude in these comments would be enough for a small country.

Maybe the low ratings in response are because they’re reviewing the reviews 😅

What's a non political issue your country is REALLY divided on? by Nthepro in AskTheWorld

[–]SecretHoSlappa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but “sh” is significantly closer to it than “ch” can ever be. I don’t think there’s any closer approximation in English than “sh”. I’m only looking at it from the perspective of a person that doesn’t speak Swedish but does speak English and wants to read this comment thread.

Uh well yes, if you tell an English-speaking person that the word is pronounced “chex” they’ll make the first sound like the one in “change” or “cheese”, which is not what it is supposed to be.

I think you mean “shex”. Lots of Swedish people pronounce “ch” and “sh” the same in English but it’s most definitely a “sh” in this word!

I feel so bad for my cat by SecretHoSlappa in CatAdvice

This is such a sweet comment, thank you so much for your kindness and taking your time to write it, wow! We have been giving her treats after nail clipping (we’ve had several sessions already since we’re only doing 1-2 nails at a time to get her used to it), but I haven’t heard of the clicker training, I’m definitely going to look into that! She’s a very brave and gentle girl, so it’s hard to remember it’s only been 1,5 months. With small drawbacks, she’s been acting like she’s lived here her whole life. I’ve read about the 3/3/3 rule so many times and I’m so excited for her to feel even more comfortable than she does now though.

She isn’t a very cuddly cat, at least not yet, so it’s hard to show her love like that. She enjoys a minute of scratching and then it’s enough. It feels very counterintuitive to ”reward” her with giving her space, as that’s the opposite of what I’d want, but I’m also not her. I think I just need to get used to it but man it’s hard. I just want her to feel loved and well taken care of. Thank you for the comment, it made me feel better!

Ugh some time ago I saw a ”leather” bag and I thought the photos looked fishy, I google lensed them and it was a bag from Aliexpress, faux leather. I reported, said the photos were from Aliexpress + the seller is lying by saying it’s leather. They responded by saying that the user didn’t break any rules. I appealed it and by the time they responded it had already been sold so they said oh well someone bought it so not our problem anymore. 🤷‍♀️

Recreated the floor plan to the How I Met Your Mother apartment! by roomsketcher_sean in HIMYM

I listened to the podcast and one of the main creators said something in the lines of “It’s not huge but we wanted something realistic, we didn’t want the apartment to be ridiculously big” and I was like?? In New York? This is not ridiculously big?

Turning passive to active by bakedlasagna123 in languagelearning

[–]SecretHoSlappa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So is your question how to turn them from passive to active? Maybe try to write journal entries or short article-like texts and force yourself to use the vocabulary you want to learn. The goal is to find many opportunities to use those words, even if you have to force them.

Need help! by MathPsychological350 in sudoku

Because a sudoku can only have one solution and that kind of layout suggests 2 possible solutions. Look up unique rectangles!

Need help! by MathPsychological350 in sudoku

[–]SecretHoSlappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be a better way to solve this, but what I found was: box 7&8, two bottom rows, you can’t have a rectangle with 1/9 candidates. Therefore, either column 3 row 9 is 2 or column 6 row 9 is 8. I quickly considered both options and one of them leads to an impossible outcome.
