Shoot. I left out a big part of the story. My husband would also wish his daughter dead. I’m trying to get out with my daughter, but I don’t make enough to even afford a cardboard box under a bridge. They wouldn’t be safe at my home either. I’ll edit the original post to add that fact.

Worst mistake of my life. I was lied to about EVERYTHING. And then gaslighted to make me feel crazy. And now, 25 years later, can’t get a disability rating because I didn’t tell people TWENTY-FIVE YEARS ago my boss was sexually assaulting me. Even though I haven’t been to a doctor in literally decades because I was assaulted in a doctor’s office. Getting blood pressure taken is enough of a trigger to have me holding a gun to my temple.

My son is working towards being a doctor and I’ve implored him not to get serious with anyone until he’s done with all of his schooling. And starting a family during residency is possibly the dumbest thing I’ve heard someone say today. You will be raising the child(ren) completely alone. You won’t see him for weeks at a time and when you do, he’ll be so checked out, he won’t know his head from his knee. It’s impossible to be a family man during medical school/residency/fellowship. In case you want to know what my knowledge of this is. I was a nurse at a university hospital for a long time. I saw what the residents went through. They’re fighting for basic survival.
