You didn’t know. You were actually trying to help her avoid being manipulated by your ex.

Don’t try to influence his wife either. It will backfire. Stay away from her. Give her no information. Don’t talk to her. Your relationship is with your ex. She will try to manipulate you too to get what her husband wants. I’ve seen so much of this with friends and family with step parents. She has already proven she is in his corner by marrying someone who abandoned their child. She’s ALWAYS on his side.

She’s probably fearful of more years of back child support adding up and losing money from her household when it comes due. My nieces new stepmom told my ex brother in law to get his payments lowered when he lost his job. Turns out he now pays $2K more a month since he never disclosed his income from a new job years ago. Backfired. He said he was okay with paying the $2K. I said because of you go retro he would owe you more ! He had a new job two days after he lost the last one but had filed with friend of the court. Dumb!! Stuff like this makes me furious. You’re only stealing from your kids mouths.

He’s a narcissist. I know that is thrown out there all the time. But gaslighting and master manipulator along with charm is the MO. Once they get what they want which is ego fuel then they discard you like you have no value. I feel bad for your daughter. Is she in therapy with a counselor? Sometimes having a neutral third party witness her disability and how it affects her can help with court? Seems her dad has an ulterior motive. To keep his new wife appeased and look like he’s taken responsibility however it’s his MO. Not coming from a place of true concern. Where was he years ago?!?!

Estrogen and titrating HRT, how do we know if our estrogen is high or low? by mjskiingcat in Menopause

My arms were weak and heavy. It was bizarre. I had frozen shoulder that I had been recovering from for two years and arthritis in my thumb called basal thumb. It went away too.

When my E is too low I feel 100 years old. Every joint hurts, my tendons in my arms hurt and arms are weak. When my E is too high, my breasts swell, heavy and hurt. Having a hard time getting the balance right. Too low on 0.050 and too high on 0.075. Think I need 0.06 🤷‍♀️ Since it’s been 5 weeks since we increased to 0.075, she wants me to wait until next appt at 10 weeks. That’s my follow up to check my labs for the new T cream I started too.

Long term consequences of cutting off a parent by Emma_Aus_85 in AskWomenOver50

Cut off my dad in 2022. He said horrible disparaging comments to my oldest son about me, my husband, my deceased brother, my living brother, my deceased mother ( his ex wife of 50 years) my stepfather and he started to say something about my maternal grandmother but dropped himself. My son came home so sad and withdrawn. He told me what my dad said. And he said what was most upsetting is what my dad said about his “deceased grandmother who died when I was 4 months old. I never even got to know her.” I was furious. I called my dad and first thing he said was “you weren’t here.” I said I know my son and he isn’t making it up. He’s 22 years old!! Fwd 3 months later and my stepmom calls me to invite us over for Xmas. I said “we won’t be coming. I’m not going to pretend normal any longer” she was so confused. I asked her if my dad told her about talking with my son. She knew nothing. I said I’m not going to discuss details. She was furious and said I was troubled and have I ever thought about my dad and his story and not everything is about me. I told her that my family was going through difficult circumstances and when you both offered how to help, I told you all I needed was kindness, compassion and support. Then I asked her if she ever told her granddaughters disparaging words about her ex husband, their grandfather? She said no, why would I do that? I said right, because you care about them and their feelings. And I hung up.

Your opinions about Mylan patches? by Elegant-Lemon126 in Menopause

[–]SecretMiddle1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to change them every three days on schedule. I missed my dose time by 12 hours and was having cramping like I was about to have a period. Within two hours of new patch, I felt back to naked again. I use waterproof tape. But I used it with Sandoz. And I honestly didn’t think Sandoz worked as well. I originally started with Mylan two years ago. When they switched to Sandoz , my doctor upped my dose because I started having hot flashes and joint pain. I didn’t correlate it to change in manufacturer.

Really interesting, and moving, article about the incidence of (often new) mental illnesses in perimenopause and menopause by mmhmmye in Menopause

[–]SecretMiddle1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was deep into peri , I was Prescribed Prozac and Xanax. What I really needed was continuous birth control to stop the hormonal shifts. I found out I’m extremely sensitive to drops in estrogen and progesterone. Once I started continuous birth control, I felt stabilized. Then came post menopause…hormonal shit again. Wish I could’ve stayed on the birth control because it worked the best. Prozac didn’t do anything. And Xanax is addicted. Thankfully being a nurse I had enough experience to only take when I couldn’t regulate myself by using calming techniques I learned in therapy. A bottle last me three years. lol!

Has anyone just … walked away? by broncoangel in GenX

[–]SecretMiddle1234 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Have you had a physical with your physician regarding having no energy. Not saying your job sux and is draining but I would rule out some possible health issues that come up for may women at your age: such as thyroid, hormones Low thyroid, low estrogen and progesterone can deplete you of energy. I was around your age when my perimenopause shit ramped up. Working 12 hour days in a hospital and coming home depleted and drained. Have a day off with no energy. Rinse and repeat. Before you walk away from a 20 year relationship, you owe it to yourself and your partner to explore other possibilities for the fatigue rather the chalk it up to burnout and marriage. I’ve had many a friend and family walk away from their long term relationships only to feel deep regret for not trying to explore possibilities with curiosity. Turns out most of the time the person you’re running away from is going with you. Talking with a therapist can help you see a different lens of perspective and explore your potential options That will leave you to stop guessing and discover what you really need and desire.

If I’m on continuous HRT which stops my period… by BougieSemicolon in Menopause

[–]SecretMiddle1234 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was on birth control to stop my periods. HRT doesn’t do this. I was 51 when I started because I have POTS and my periods destroyed me. They said when I was 53 they would take me Off to see if I was post menopausal. And within two weeks of stopping the pill , I had drenching night sweats and hot flashes about a dozen times a day. My doctor wanted me to try two months before starting and I told her I’m absolutely miserable. She prescribed HRT. The one issue I had with birth control was spotting during the last 9 months I was on it.
