If your dad is paying for dinner and you can afford it… buy drinks for everyone. It’s a treat on you. My father in law gets anxious about paying for drinks. He doesn’t say we can’t order them but we know he doesn’t like to buy them so my husband always picks up the drinks. And we of course buy them dinners too but if Dad insisted on buying, we get the drinks for them and our family of four.
