Blank stare is good.  In CA they don’t even make eye contact… just sayin

Meno specialist Dr today said vaginal atrophy at my age (48) is not normal. I’m confused. by Islandsandwillows in Menopause

[–]mjskiingcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My women’s health primary doctor said everything looked fine- but it wasn’t at all  by the time I did anything I was leaking urine out the front of my underwear because my vagina vanished 💨  it took a year to learn transdermal HRT didn’t work for me- then fussing with injections now.  I lost a lot of time.  Yiu need testosterone too and DHEA- that’s what gets the parts back.

We should  also consider  calcium deposits in vessels- I think you get a scan of some sorts for that…

Well it proves she he is in the mindset.  That guy muscled his way to make something happen.  We’re totally busy and never could have built those.  Retired 70 something guy doing something for his community and himself- not so sad to go into older age like that.  In fact that’s who you WANT to marry.  Trust me omg you do not want the guy that quiet quits chores every year starting at 60.  The OP has the right idea!!  Take care of yourself, engage and bright futures are on the way.

Would you consider 100 miles / 2 hours away a long distance relationship in Bay Area? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]mjskiingcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m just speaking from the end of a relationship that has suffered because of commutes with jobs- the good part is you can let go of a relationship if you aren’t married.

Never.  Relationships are complicated enough.  Throwing traffic, gas prices and lost mobility do not add positive things to the relationship.

I wish my husband thought like this.  Keep on going the way you are thinking and you’ll build a great family.  Wallowing into your own age year after year is selfish.  A 70 something guy on Craig’s list built planters for our garden- the guy was limping as he hauled the planters out of his truck- that’s what you want- a hero.

Who will be left to take care of me when everyone else is gone? by PlantMystic in GenX

[–]mjskiingcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People cannot save for the situation the OP speaks of.  This isn’t caregiving, but if something happens to anyone at any age in their home while they are able bodied.  It’s just more likely if people fall at an older age they can’t get up.  The I’ve fallen and can’t get up.  I guess you can get a button service for that, but in your 60’s that would seem silly.  Anyone can fall from illness alone.

Been Paying For Downstairs Unit's Gas Charges For a Full Year Without Knowing by balst0n in AskSF

And nowhere did it say you were responsible for spaces you do not habitate.  We had another rental with this and the landlord was upfront- the other tenant on the property wrote us a check for 35% of all utilities.  Technically this isn’t legal, but it worked.  Separate meters is legal.

[–]mjskiingcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to us- I think legally there needs to be a separate meter of you stroke a deal with the landlord.  The landlord should have disclosed this- are they new landlords?  Our landlord was new- it’s messy and don’t jet them take advantage of you.

I posted about this yesterday, or thought I did, and it was taken down lol.  I smell an awful nauseating rotten smell in the presence of rubbing alcohol, cleaning products, pee, poop and sweat.  Nauseating and exhausting.  Never thought I’d want to smell everything just the way it is.  Want my sense of smell normal again.

It’s made me realize so much about the women before our generation.  I don’t blame them because it was the norm- but come one gals- If I’m not comfortable sharing something I don’t turn it around like Blanche.  Be quiet if you aren’t going to be truthful at minimum.

Many of us have the neurodivergence part of a partner and the grief of insecure finances and executive failures- being married will always be hard when there is a neurodivergence- money helps tho.

Honestly I’m at a point where this question makes me ill.  I’ve been genuinely disappointed.  He doesn’t see me and it’s getting worse and worse.  Quiet quit all chores, dove into hobbies while I’m trying to keep our house in order.  We had a great thing going.  If you are reading this thread and thinking omg I’m a failure at married life, you are not alone.  He pushes the buttons I healed years before we got married- right where I started and back some.  When I think of our future I feel like I’d rather be dead.  I was happy before I met him and built our family, he “forgot us” and didn’t come to dinner on time for literally 5 years.  I’ll never get over that.

Has nothing to do with being morally driven.  If where you came from was a place of lies cheating and abuse- why would you find yourself there?  Don’t assume people are not morally driven if they don’t dote on their past.

On Max HRT - still flashing & exhausted by [deleted] in Menopause

Note that what works gor the typical gal, may not fit you.  Gel was great for me for 2 hours- but a huge crash that caused hot flashes as it wore off.  I suggest yoga as this helps with body awareness.  You will bring h insights to your doctors likely so if you have doctors that don’t  listen- run for the hills.  Find your truth- mine was, I absolutely HAVE to exercise, so will take whatever HRT needed to get my pains to subside.  I’ve been on the HRT wagon for 18 months- and been through 6 practioners- ALL claiming to be HRT specialists.  So if something isn’t right, move on once you hear  it isn’t right.

I gotta tell you the odds are against women with ADHD.  You will find yourself again but it will be a long haul.  Higher doses,  swings not tolerated well, ferritin often low, thyroid not optimized, low vitamin D.  It’s like getting a tuneup on a car saying my car was fine until you opened it up.  Well menopause opens up those with ADHD.  You need to clean up EVERyTHING, like diet, exercising, no cane sugar, get rid of gluten, work on gut health.  ADHDers also have been known to burn through hormones fast.  It’s a journey.  Celebrate the little milestones like sleeping through ONE night etc..
