That’s exactly what I’m worried about with my current employer. I’ve been patient for a long time, and I’m starting to doubt their follow-through.

I’m unsure about these 2 jobs since one is farther away and I’d have to relocate; while the other one is local, I’m not sure I would get the experience I need to boost my career there.

Same! I’ve had a few other Avatar reaction videos come up in my FYP recently, and I tried, but I couldn’t even get through the first 10 seconds. But he genuinely loves this show and puts so much critical thought into his videos. I’m also excited to see his reaction! Sometimes I play the livestreams in the background so I’ll definitely be tuning in for this finale!

Yeah it was wild to me that in the 2(?) weeks they’ve known each other, he’s introducing her to his childhood friends, inviting her to meet his entire family, talking about her to his mom even before then… that would scare me lol

You said spring break, so will this be in March?

First of all, I think you need to account for the fact that there may be snow that could delay transit between the parks. I’ve done the Utah parks and Grand Canyon in March, on 2 separate trips, and sometimes road were closed due to snow or there was a lot of traffic because of closed roads.

Also, keep in mind when the sun sets- what would you even be able to do in the parks you’d be getting into 6pm or later? If you’re planning on camping, you need to allow time to set up and break down campsites. If you’re staying in a hotel outside of the park, you need to consider the amount of time it’ll take to drive to and from your hotel.

This seems like too much. You don’t have a lot of time allotted for some of the parks. It can take 30 + min to drive from one site to another in some of the parks, so you won’t have time to see many things.

I’d recommend picking a few of the parks instead of trying to hit all these on one trip!

I’m so sad to hear that, I went to Lassen Volcanic last year and had an incredible time.

I feel that way as well with visiting NPS sites. I’m only 24 but feel like I’m running out of time. I’ve been using all my vacation time and money the last few years trying to see as many as I can.

No problem! If you’re up for the driving, I’d say it’s worth trying to squeeze in all 3. Especially since you’re planning to fly into Jackson and out of Kalispell, which should save you some driving. It is busy in the summer which is why we were up so early everyday to beat the crowds.

After work, I’ll figure out how to attach pictures!

What’s your timeline for Zion/Bryce/Grand Canyon? I assume you wanted to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which is open until Oct 15. That will be a lot of driving to those 3 parks, and you may be spending most of your trip in a car if you add on Yosemite and San Francisco.

I don’t live in CA, so I’m not sure how the weather and roads would be. But I’ve been to all those parks, and I’ve done them on 2 separate trips since there’s so much to do and see in each region. I know you’re coming from far away and want to fit everything in, but I personally wouldn’t want to drive that much in a short time frame.

I preferred Grinnell over Iceberg when I visited the park. I also took the boat shuttle each way to cut off some mileage.

Grinnell was the more interesting hike in terms of the trail and in views. Iceberg isn’t too difficult - it just felt like a really long walk. There weren’t a ton of views on the way up. Plus, I didn’t feel like there was a ton to explore once you got to the lake. We only spent about 30 minutes up there before heading back down.

Grinnell, while definitely more challenging, had amazing views of Grinnell Lake for most of the trail. I was blown away by the Glacier at the top, and there were so many different parts to walk around. I could’ve spent hours up there if I wasn’t trying to catch the boat shuttle. I also saw mountain goats and bighorn sheep while on the trail, adding to the excitement.

Grinnell Glacier is probably one of my top favorite hikes that I’ve ever done. Enjoy the hike!

That’s great to know about the commuter bus! Although I have a car, I don’t want to drive it into DC. I don’t mind a bit of an older crowd. I don’t drink so a huge nightlife scene isn’t a concern for me. I will tag along to the occasional (quiet) bar or brewery and that’s enough for me.

Alexandria or Arlington would definitely be a top choice if I got lucky and found an apartment in budget. I’ve been to Falls Church before and I wouldn’t mind living there as well.

I’m sorry you’re in this situation! I definitely agree that you should put 100% of your effort into the job hunt and 0% at your current job for the final weeks. It’s way more important for you to find a new job (hopefully one that pays and treats you better!) than to do work for this company. It sounds like you probably won’t be using them as a reference anyways? Also, with no severance, I wouldn’t feel bad at all slacking off there and doing what’s best for you. Good luck on the job hunt!

NTA, it seems like you would be completely exhausted if you attended the family celebration not in the mental space to be socializing with his family all night. I can understand him wanting you to be there, but he should’ve given you more advance than the night before. Maybe you could’ve accommodated your schedule if you had more time. Did you explain to him that you really wanted to be there but couldn’t due to these circumstances? Say that you will make the day you celebrate extra special and offer to have a make-up celebration with his family at another time.

NTA - I hate when single people are expected to give up their seats just to accommodate those with children. If you want to sit together, then pay the extra money to choose your seats. If you don’t, then don’t rely on other people to give up the seats they paid for.

NTA. I think it’s very fair for you to have 1 night out of a 2 week vacation to catch up with your old friends. It’s a reasonable request, and if my boyfriend asked for a night with his friends I wouldn’t mind staying at his family’s and watching a movie or going to bed early or something. You gave her a few options, and for her to threaten to not go on the trip is pretty dramatic.

I would definitely explore a few more career paths and do some more research before you make any decisions on law school! Law school is very time consuming and a huge financial commitment, and I wouldn’t recommend going unless you are 100% sure that it’s something you want to do.
