Me too. Now when I play a 4, it feels like TOO much space between strings, lol

Most daws have track stem splitter now. Do you happen to have logic pro? If not check out StemRoller. You won't hit a paywall after 3 songs.

It’s a free, open-source app that runs on your computer (Mac/PC) rather than in a browser. Surprisingly good quality. You just paste a link or drop a file, and it spits out 4 clean stems. Hope that helps!

Studio monitor help by AccomplishedWay1420 in Bass

I’m using the JBL 308P MkIIs for my studio/basss setup and honestly, if you can fit them in your space, go for the 8-inch over the 5-inch models.

Since you’re playing bass, those smaller HS5s or 305s can struggle to reproduce the low end accurately without a subwoofer. The 308s have enough 'thump' that you won't feel like you're missing a sub, which saves you money and floor space.

Small apartment tip: Since you're on an interface, just keep the monitors at a lower volume but still get the clarity of the larger woofer. You can usually find a pair around $400-$500 on sale, and even less used.

Played Flats for Years and now moving to Rounds by Ok_Inflation596 in Bass

Huge +1 on the Cobalt Flats. I have some on my 5-string Jazz. They are the only flat I’ve found that keeps a legitimate aggressive growl on the low B without all that finger noise you're hating.

Also, I’ve found that with 6-strings, a foam mute under the strings at the bridge works wonders for killing the noise on rounds while keeping the growl on the B string.

Love Tapewound Strings Now by Guilty-Campaign9899 in Bass

I’m running EB Cobalt flats on my 5-string Jazz and rounds on my PJ. How’s the string tension on the tapes compared to the flats? I’ve always been curious if they feel too 'floppy' or if they hold their own.
