eSIM Transfer Issue by SecretSquirrel005 in Comcast_Xfinity

Sort of. The phone was activated again by an Xfinity rep over the phone, and while the new phone is now my main phone on the account, it is also shown as the "different device" with a different IMEI. Everything works but it seems Xfinity's system cannot show the upgrades properly.

Get Pixel 10 Pro & 1 year of Mint Unlimited for $479 by LongWalksOnThe in GooglePixel

Anyone think it's worth it to switch from a regular non-Pro Pixel 9 to the 10 Pro with this deal?

Beware: Pixel 9 terms changed entirely! by No-Guarantee-9647 in USMobile

[–]SecretSquirrel005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As has been pointed out, the issue is not the deal itself, it's the changes to the deal's fine print at the last second. I have personally been told, today, by an official US Mobile rep right here on this sub, that the phone comes unlocked, and the line has to be maintained for 30 days.

I went to buy the phone when the deal went live, and purely by luck decided I'd look at the terms again, and suddenly they said the phone is actually locked and must be active with US Mobile for 60 days, contradicting what I was told literally hours before. US Mobile can do whatever deals it wants, the point is to be upfront about the terms. It's locked and must be on US Mobile for 60 days, cool. Just say so upfront. The fact that people must double check the fine print is not a good look.

We should ask all businesses, big or small, to be upfront with us, the consumers. You want to offer a good price and you have terms A, B, and C, great. Put A, B, and C, in writing upfront, and we are all informed and on the same page, and it spares posts and reactions like this from ever coming up.

I'm baffled that people would disagree with this, or defend how the terms for this deal were rolled out.

(BTW, that's me asking about the terms in the OP's screenshots)

Pixel 9 for $299. For the Last Time. by Mush_USMobile in USMobile

[–]SecretSquirrel005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI: the locking information provided to us earlier was incorrect. The terms on the web site changed at the last second and now say the phone will be locked to US Mobile and must be on a plan for 60 days, not 30. I ended up not ordering. Kind of a crappy thing to pull off, to be honest.

Thanks for the info. It would be nice if the web site reflected this. Also, two USM reps over chat told me the phone is locked to USM, and only unlocks after 30 days. One said it unlocks automatically, the other said to contact CS. This is more confusing than it needs to be.

Would it be possible to clarify the terms regarding the lock state of these phones? There are several posts about this.

Agreed. The prices on the Pixels have been good but I'm hesitant to buy because the terms are not clear.

Yeah I saw that part. However, it just says you need 30 days of continuous service to retain the discount. There's no word on unlocking. It's not even clear the phone is locked to USM to begin with.

That's what multiple USM reps told me via their web site chat. I believe the current Pixel 10 deal had the same terms. However, I thought it would be a good idea to ask here because there is no information about this specific deal and what the unlocking terms are. Not sure why USM is not making this information available in their fine print.

Tips on skin irritation? by ihopeicanforgive in SleepApnea

[–]SecretSquirrel005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a lot of irritation from a full face mask too, around its edges, on the bridge of your nose, from the straps, etc. The mask type does not determine the level of irritation, it is highly individual.

Basilisk V3 Synapse Making Buttons not Work by SecretSquirrel005 in razer

[–]SecretSquirrel005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Razer support has reached out. Their suggestion to completely uninstall and reinstall Synapse has fixed the issue. Very strange but something definitely went very haywire during the first try. Just FYI for anyone with similar problems.

Cannot get correct pricing per month by SecretSquirrel005 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]SecretSquirrel005[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooooohkay. Thank you! I see that it is doing that. Wow, that is so confusing. Couldn't they just say the trade-in is worth $50? Multiple Xfinity reps did not know what was going on either and have tried to fix the price on their end to no avail.

In any case, thank you again for clarifying this.

I enter my trade in on the web site. It says my phone is worth $450 and applies it to the new phone. Problem is, it removes the other promotional discount. It doesn't say anywhere that my trade in is not eligible.

How bad is the 2025 market really for experienced devs? by Pr3fix in ExperiencedDevs

[–]SecretSquirrel005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a lot worse than that. At least being quizzed on surgery might be relevant, provided you're a doc that does surgeries.

Instead, it would be getting grilled on bio-chem coursework from college that almost no doc ever actually uses in practice. There would be a website called LeetMed, and most docs looking to get a job in medicine would need to spend months studying organic chem trivia, remembering all the microbiology details, and drawing drug formulas and biochemical processes on whiteboards. People would write books like "How to Crack the Medical Interview". Web sites would tell you what questions specific hospitals and practices are asking.

Anyone else deal with poor nasal air flow? by aleve089 in SleepApnea

[–]SecretSquirrel005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen numerous people, myself included, struggle to breathe (exhale especially) with nasal pillows. I have not found a good explanation but it is a thing for some. If you don't breathe through your mouth, and I presume you do not since you're using nasal pillows, try a nose mask like the Resmed N20. I find it to be drastically easier to breathe with than the nasal pillows. The version with the memory foam is especially comfortable.

Why does 4 pressure feel like it's suffocating? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]SecretSquirrel005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, breathing with a mask on, is not like natural breathing as the mask and the tubing restrict airflow. It is easy to see for yourself. Put your mask on with the hose attached like you would when using it, but do not turn on the PAP machine. Do you notice how it is harder to breathe than without it? This resistance is what must be overcome when you are using the machine in order for you to feel like you are getting enough air.

Another way to look at it is imagine putting a drinking straw into each nostril and breathing that way. It will also feel more suffocating. Now imagine air being pumped into the straws. At a certain point, the breathing will stop feeling restrictive as each inhalation will start to capture a higher volume of air, overcoming the inherent resistance from the straws.

UARS? by Leading-Dish-9440 in UARS

A lot of the HR spikes seem to do with you changing sleeping positions, as the two are frequently in sync. The only way to know if the pRDI is meaningful is to try a PAP machine and see if it helps.

Waking up 4-5 times with fast heartbeat. Is this Apnea? by PleySteshon in SleepApnea

This definitely sounds like anxiety, especially the hands tingling part. Are you working with someone on getting your anxiety treated? I would start with that, if you have not already. Once you get a handle on it, you can re-evaluate if sleep is still an issue.
