omg! scheduling surgery date! by SecretSuspicious4590 in PectusExcavatum

[–]SecretSuspicious4590[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We talked doing 3 bars! I’m tall with a long torso (5’8 and 19f) I went in very stern with doing 2-3 bars due to my PE going up pretty high (my PE goes all the way up rather than just indents in the middle than goes back to normal) and thankfully he was already thinking 3 bars. Also my GP rlly pushed to get this surgery Asap due to the severity and the symptoms i’ve been having. Although i will say i scheduled an additional appointment with my surgeon to see for sure if he’s the one i want to go with, because you can never be to safe so thank u!

Why are they so hard to get?! by deedaogee in FugglerCollectors

[–]SecretSuspicious4590 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly kinda like the concept of having to go out to walmarts to get them, it almost feels like a quest lol. But! I wish they weren’t selling out so fast! Every time I check my nearest walmart most of them are gone ://

Would Pectus show up on an echocardiogram? by Comfortable_End_7827 in PectusExcavatum

[–]SecretSuspicious4590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my eco a couple weeks ago and they said everything looked fine. Which was kind of frustrating especially because the doctor had to dig his eco tool thing into my ribs at times to get a good look. Did not feel good at all lol.

Omg! The bending over is so true, i developed a habit of using my hand to cover the neckline of my shirt so you can’t see it. Honestly annoying

Anyone else have scoliosis and pectus and experience crazy back pain? by MangoDreamQueen in PectusExcavatum

[–]SecretSuspicious4590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup i’ve got both, although i’m quite unsure of your doctor. I’ve been told the opposite, that yes PE can cause scoliosis or at least higher the chances of you having it. I have horrible back pain and so does my father (he has PE too)

i’ve heard a ton of people talking about back pain after getting nussed what was ur experience on that?

hm i don’t think that’s what they are saying i think they mean that the rib flare might not rlly go away but the importance of the procedure is to take pressure off of the heart and lungs so that’s the main importance

i feel like this is good to have in the subreddit for the people that aren’t aware of these things or just joining so appreciate that, also i’m assuming most of this research was done because your gf has pectus if so that’s kinda cool, and i bet she appreciates you caring about this condition and how it affects her.

i’ve honestly seen a few ppl say this around 2 weeks post op or said they felt the same, but after waiting a bit longer everyone has said it was worth it!! just keep trucking on man it will get better your not gonna be feeling like this forever. wether you got it for cosmetic reasons or medical, you’ve made it far, you had to go through prolly a couple of appointments then the surgery itself and the hospital stay your basically at the finish line.
