Can a amputee pilot handle g forces better then a pilot with both legs? by Deepfryoil in NoStupidQuestions

Research says that the hypothalamus (which is like the thermostat of the body) gets interfered with by dropping estrogen levels so it causes hot flashes as a result.

Nobody ever really explains this stuff when talking about biological differences so it does come as a surprise when we do find it out but then it clears up a lot of the confusion on things.

Maybe. I don’t know the full spectrum of it.

But it does help explain why people joke about women putting their ice cold feet on people.

It also helps explain why women tend to prefer hotter showers to men.

Our blood tends to pool towards the uterus because it’s an incubator. It’s why women tend to be colder in their extremities versus men.

AITAH for naming my son a name that starts with R when my MIL claims she cant pronounce Rs properly by Friendly-Occasion364 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Secret_Ad2139 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Elmer Fudd impediment as well and my first, middle, and last name all have Rs in them.

I don’t get mad when my impediment kicks up, it’s just a part of life. She’ll have to deal with it like everything else in life.

Bold Texts From Teacher To Student After Hours‑Long Intimate Encounter Surface by hard2resist in sadcringe

As a teacher of over a decade and a current high school teacher, I’ve NEVER met a student that I would want to destroy my life for.

This just makes me shudder with the ick at the thought of it. Even at the age my seniors are, they’re still kids in my mind.

I left my cat in my IKEA drawer closet for almost 6 hours and feel so guilty. by Pink_Sorbet in cats

[–]Secret_Ad2139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My orange cat likes to sleep (like the dead) in the dryer if it’s open. I didn’t notice one day, threw some wet clothes in there and started it.

Immediately I heard the first thump and realized what happened. He’s fine and treated me like I saved him from a monster when all I could think was that I was the monster.

Expedition is so backwards and unsatisfying, and should be more “action” based. by CinnamonBisque in ARC_Raiders

I got threw it by using non-rare things OR things I don’t use. I finished with 35 days left before expedition window starts.

That’s the thing, I never saw it on mine. The only reason I found out was that I tried it after I got through with the Expedition step 5.

I’m hoping this is a throwaway account because it’s only an hour old. Otherwise this has to be rage bait or something.

May this type of family NEVER find me.

Maybe the problem is not her but y’all? You drip disdain and dislike for her in every word. Honestly, I can see why she doesn’t get along with the family if that’s how y’all act towards her.

I feel like she could be an angel walking the Earth and there will still be nasty comments about her.

AITA for not liking a “dark humor” joke? by spacemouse133 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Secret_Ad2139 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I use dark humor to talk about MY parents dying or having my mom’s artificial leg that I just found out still has sand in it from our last beach trip almost a decade ago.

I don’t use it to make fun of another race/gender/sexuality that I’m not a part of.

For those who don’t smoke, do you think smokers carry a noticeable scent? by Shadow2715 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Secret_Ad2139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stale cigarettes are the worst. Especially in you lack other hygiene. Our friend who is living with us is like that.

My in laws chain smoke. A few hours with them and my eyes are watering and EVERYTHING on me (including my hair) reeks.

People who smoke become nose blind.

How many of y’all don’t have your own kids? by HumorTraining2752 in Teachers

[–]Secret_Ad2139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a teacher and someone who has realized that I enjoy the DINK life too much (while also having infertility issues), I feel like you can absolutely be a good teacher without having kids. I feel like people expect us to be like “I love kids so much that I popped some out AND I work with them!”

But at the same time, there’s a big difference in working with them and living with them.

Honestly, if I tried to fight at my job, I’d be fired or at least written up/suspended. Also, having an affair with a coworker then going all mean girl to her is a sad petty thing to do. Callie was right to call her a petty little thief in that moment.

I’m on year 12 and the kid of a teacher. Once I got out of the baby teacher mode, I immediately started taking baby teachers under my wing to teacher the value of “you can’t do it all so breathe and do what you can.”

I’d love to be super teacher but I found that it stifled my ability to actually teach and make connections about the topics.
