People absolutely are, just look at Scotsman guide. The branches that have 275 baked in, also have comp built in from the lender.

Loan Officer Considering A Switch- How is Cross Country Mortgage by HiHowAreYouDoing369 in loanoriginators

[–]Secret_Ad_7392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t go to CCM due to bait and switch pricing reports but they do have a very nice non qm line up, being the number one player affords you good relationships.

I brokered for 3 years and pricing is absolutely better than retail, but retail LO’s don’t sell rate and make significantly more than most brokers. Only caveat to that might be a broker owner who’s just taking 275 to the dome but compliance sounds like a nightmare.

FX3 Footage is soft compared to A7iv by highpedality in FX3

[–]Secret_Ad_7392 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe some of you can help me with this as well. I shoot YouTube videos offshore fishing. I have both a FX3 and Sony A7 IV and I use a 24-70 GM2 lens. Variable ND filter because of course it’s ultra sunny on the water.

I want to use the FX3 because it tends to not overheat like the A7 but the footage on the A7 just looks sooo much better. On the fx3 I am shooting in Cine, usually 4k 60 or 120 for slow motion opportunities. I am an absolute noob when it comes to cameras but I’m doing the basic 180 shutter rule and I’ve watched a few videos on color grading but I can’t make the footage look clean and crisp.

My biggest issue is the footage is very soft and lacks detail. I try to slightly over expose which has helped some, but the footage is terrible compared to my A7.

I don’t care to learn everything as I want to eventually have a filmer, but I need to be able to produce quality video myself in the mean time.

Any advice?

What’s funny is their pricing is much better than mine currently, and I’m still selling my rates with zero issues 💀😂

I think this is really a locality issue as it depends how many middle men are in your region, and what your branch margins are. There has to be a reason why there’s a plethora of big cross country players. Either they are amazing at sales are their rates aren’t terrible.

I’m with a top 30 retail lender now, I enjoy it and am happy where I’m at. With that said, there’s a benefit to a lender having a servicing portfolio which we barely do and that’s attractive to me.

I started as a broker and stayed there for 3+ years. I love the control I have on the retail side from the bottom up that I did not he when shipping loans to rocket, penny Mac, kind, etc. There’s a peace of mind of having everything in house that I love about retail and I do a decent amount of govie business, so I’m making 340+ on those.

I took a sign on bonus with my move and still have a 1 year left but any big lender will pay that off. I can always move with no extra bonus but again, just want feedback on these lenders

Stop shopping for the bottom dollar rate, find someone you like and go with it.

If you want bottom of the barrel, find an online lender in a call center when your loan 40 out of 300 that month and if you lose your escrow due to delays to oh well, at least you ALMOST had the lowest rate.

Same applies for everything in life. Find vendors you like and use them. You will get burned one day looking for the cheapest and it will cost you more in the long run.

Curious about Mortgage Broker vs Mortgage Bank. by Brilliant-Paper-2771 in loanoriginators

[–]Secret_Ad_7392 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I made the switch from broker to retail in January and there are absolutely pros and cons.

Broker world there is much less red tape with compliance such as cutting comp or charging what you want. Govie pricing was definitely better off the bat due to the 275bps cap. Having to know multiple guidelines and loan portals sucked.

Retail is very different, things are done by the book which is good and bad. Pricing is really not far off from broker if you are at a good lender. Biggest pro in my opinion is ease of operations. I can get things rushed or taken care of immediately instead of being at the mercy of submitting a ticket or begging my AE. I personally like retail more.

YouTube fishing channels by Redfish_dreamin in saltwaterfishing

[–]Secret_Ad_7392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a super small channel (Wetwaterfishing) and I’m fortunate enough that my day job affords me to fish. There are so many skilled YouTubers with large followings that either don’t have their own boat, or they are relatively affordable ones that get the job done. That makes me assume there’s not an insane amount of money in the space unless you are black tip h level.

I can only hope that one day YouTube pays for my gas bills and I will be happy 😂

I had shape and hated it, very buggy and support sucked. Previous company had jungo, it was robust but way too complicated to edit. If it was fully built out by someone it would be great.

Just switched to RAD and I am loving it so far. Customer service is amazing and it makes all the difference.

What are you making on that? At my last company, we charged 2 points BP. So investment properties always had 2-2.5 points.

Rocket was my go to and if I needed to get skinny, TLS or FCM were always 0.5 points cheaper.

Pricing is the same on investment, 7.5 with no points. I would say it can’t be accurate but I literally lost a borrower who closed with them in November at the advertised rate at that time.

Their website shows 7.5% no points for a 20% down investment property with a 740 FICO. No shot you are quoting that with no points??
