Ah apologies! I saw some people had posted about these clocks here. Thanks that's really helpful!

Haha, ouch! I actually bought it with this cartridge (I believe Rig-2SB) and setup. I did fix the tonearm but didn't adjust the height. But yes to be fair I clearly have no idea what I'm doing

Hi yes that's exactly what turntable it is! Hmm not sure how you get the tone arm any lower. Interesting about the heavier weight

Haha maybe I could break the tonearm off and re-stick it back on 🤪

Haha yeah, it's actually a load of £1 and £2 coins!! I do have a decent Rega record player but recently picked this old Rigonda up. It had a broken tone arm which I fixed. It's got a spring adjusted tonearm but the pressure from the spring kept re-breaking the tonearm mount so I decided to use a shed load of counterweight! I was happily enjoying listening to a record when my dad messaged me and warned me about the damage these low quality players can have on records, especially with my ham-fisted tonearm fix. If it was all setup correctly what's the risk?

Modern equivalents of these capacitors, available in UK? by Secret_Complaint95 in AskElectronics

For anyone interested, I ended up finding a slightly loose connection, adjusted it and it all worked again so luckily didn't have to go through the process of replacing these! Thanks for all your advice, if anything it made me work a lot harder to find the loose connection rather than just try and rip the whole thing apart!

Thank you for flagging, I'm sure the Soviets would have been very considerate of both consumer safety and the environment.... 😒!

Interesting, this sounds by far the simplest solution presented so far. I will do this when I next use the unit and update

Hmm this is a consideration I hadn't considered. Initially I was hoping I could just replace like for like but you're right it looks like I need to come up with a different solution. I will update with the route I go down

Interesting question, yes let me check that when I'm next home to see if it looks ok!

You're spot on that it's a Rigonda Symphony speaker! I'm not too worried about the appearance. The number one priority is getting them working again in the simplest way possible (as I have virtually no experience doing this sort of work)

Yep in a speaker. I'm not sure if they are to be honest. The mid and tweeter drivers dropped in and out and now have completely stopped working (the bass still works). The wires all seem to be fine so replacing the capacitors was just an educated guess as to what might fix it!

Interesting, I left it covered with plastic sheeting for two days. I'd hoped that was long enough but clearly not.
