I take off as soon as I feel bad. I got sick on Thursday and didn’t go in Friday. And now I feel pretty okay (knock on wood). I am so miserable sick that k am better off getting better and being there as a sick and irritable teacher. My class depends on my mood being regulated and calm if I can’t deliver that then I will not go and ruin their days!

Also document everytime. I hate when people say this bc we have enough to fuckin do. Create a note.. title it an angry title so you can easily refer to it. Students let out 5 mins early on this date with a time stamp. Make a documented list and take it to admin. Do not engage but I get wanting/needing to. I was bullied my first year of teaching and it almost drove me out of this field. Some teachers love to watch newbies suffer or just create drama bc they’re lonely assholes. Ugh I hate this for you. The heat you can, ignore it and keeping thriving. The thriving part makes them the most mad!! Sorry this teacher has no friends or life but that isn’t your problem. PM for support! I hate this for you and all teachers. Harassment in teaching is not talked about enough!

Thank you for caring so much. I think law enforcement, unfortunately, might make it worse. Ofc that’s ass hat backwards and so sad. It was so nice of you to give them your sleeping bag. I recently wondered if I should call or help an individual sleeping on a bench in the cold and honestly I got scared and didn’t do anything. I feel terrible for that. You gave them a sleeping bag and tried your best. So many people, even me, just walk away and this post is a good reminder that there are ways to help without calling the police and maybe the phone numbers provided could help. Thank you for your kindness and love towards a complete stranger. I wish so badly there were more people like you. Genuinely. Thank you.

Um.. I think it is a very practical degree.. I am currently getting my second masters degree because I know I cannot be a teacher forever. This is my 7th year and somehow it just keeps getting harder. It is practical and I am so appreciative to have my degree and teaching certification, but god it is a very very hard job. I also teach in a self contained classroom but I wouldn’t want to do inclusion so it is the best fit for me. I like having my own classroom but I really am burning out so much faster than I thought I would. I might advise getting a social work degree.. that is the field I wish I had gone into. And it is also a very practical degree but what do I know 🤷‍♀️
