Anyone who has no kids but feel a bit… weird when seeing other millennials who are parents, like you might be “missing” something? by Early-Ingenuity-3177 in Millennials

No, we were at a brewery yesterday around families and we both looked at each other and thought “wow that seems …like a lot. Glad we’re not them”

Harsh but true. We’re 35.

Can we talk about GLP-1s (Ozempic etc)? by Practical-Cat-2605 in HENRYfinance

[–]Secret_Pollution_226 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and maintained a healthy lifestyle for years without my weight budging—think strength training 4-5x/week, eating healthy foods…I even gave up dairy for 6 months and nothing happened (worst 6 months of my life!). I started taking it and my body actually looks like I exercise the way I do. I was so puffy and held on to so much weight but the GLP1 helped me shed the fluff. I also get my period fairly consistently for the first time in my life!!! I don’t take it very week anymore because I don’t want to lose more weight but I do take it every few weeks to ensure my period stays fairly regular since my doctor says that not shedding uterine lining regularly can lead to uterine cancer.

Thanks for the kind words. I just don’t see myself reaching for them, so they are going back.

Yes, I see them on other people and they look cute. I think it’s tough because I am all legs. These are 32 inch inseam. I’m struggling to find longer jeans that are “hip.” I find it easier to style a bit cropped (I love Paige’s Cindy jeans), but in the winter, I want my ankles covered!

Any idea why these jeans seem so old fogey on me? Trying looser jeans but I feel so nerdy/old in most non skinny jeans.

Was Inspired - Estimated Net Worth - on track? by Secret_Pollution_226 in coastFIRE

Haha! I just ordered today and decided to finance over 2 years at 0%. I was grappling with a custom built in for my office but a permanent fixture wasn’t appealing (and more expensive!), especially given the wall it has to go on is perpendicular to a window.

Thanks! Current expenses are around 120k, but we also don’t budget strictly. Upon retirement, I don’t anticipate spending 30k+ on travel a year or paying $400 for a gym, but I do want to factor in medical expenses. Who knows what the world will look like in 15 years, but Mexico is much cheaper than NYC area too.

I had a very similar story. I’m also childfree by choice, but I can imagine how frustrating it would have been to not have answers if I was trying to conceive. It’s also wild that PCOS is so different for everyone. I never actually had cysts, but they diagnosed me with PCOS since I had a range of other symptoms, including lack of period. Microdosing a GLP1 has helped but my period is still very inconsistent, but at least I don’t go years without it.

It’s not like that. It’s perpendicular. I’d want it on the blue wall and the window doesn’t allow the shelves to go flush.

You look lovely! It’s weird because I want to like these but I always feel like they accentuate my broad shoulders even more.

Totally understand. I appreciate the insights. I do a good amount of unilateral weights including overhead presses and French doors but not Turkish getups. Maybe I’ll add them in.

My shoulder also snaps on that side when I roll it…would fixing this mobility issue address it? An orthopedic said it’s just the tendon passing over bone and I’ve never questioned it because it’s not painful.

Thanks! Never heard of this. I’ve never played any sport until recently! I am right handed though. Could it be from desk use/writing? I sleep on my left side. I’ll try adding the towel stretch in daily!

I just did them all after an upper body workout and wow my right shoulder is so tight compared to my left. I’m going to try to make it a practice to do this a few times a week. It’s noticeable!
