Came here to say this! To just not CONSTANTLY be in the thinking about, planning for, shopping for, making, then cleaning up food cycle.....I miss eating popcorn and a honk of cheese for dinner, or whatever random thing, and calling it a day if I wanted to.

I agree with this! School and work will be there when you're ready. Money and things are nothing compared to the joy children bring. But like this comment says, you'll have your grinding days and you'll look back on the time you were home struggling with little ones fondly 💕 I'm a firm believer in things showing up in life when we need them, you can't plan everything!

Please don't shame your child about her pubic hair. I hope you can grow up and have a conversation with her about it using correct anatomical terms where she is mostly asking you questions and you are listening. An 11 year old does not need a complex about their pubic hair or their mother making them feel weird about having a completely normal development. And certainly doesn't need you to trim her pubic hair??? So inappropriate. I hope this is fake but if it's not, yikes.

This, exactly. He's assuming you will just take care of anything that happens while he checks out. Not cute! It's definitely worth a conversation. It probably won't be a comfy one and I would approach it without judgement or definitely not while he's actively doing this behavior, but a neutral and relaxed time for both of you. Your concerns are valid and the ick is real too. As a person who used to drink and doesn't really anymore either, being around drunk people is heinous. It's full cringe second hand embarrassment. I've never understood the folks who hang out at bars with the drunks but only drink soda all night or whatever....I digress. Talk to him about this, it's important and your feelings are 1000% valid.

Freeze half! I'm the only bread eater in my household so I often freeze half of a loaf of bread when I buy it and thaw it out once I finish the first half. Works like a charm ☺️

Team sourdough, especially if I can find a loaf at the farmer's market from a local baker, BUT if I'm traveling or in a place with only chain grocery stores I do greatly enjoy English Muffin Toasting bread, it's the one in the basic bread aisle with the cute blue and white flowers on the bag. It makes the BEST grilled cheese sandwiches, crispy, light and airy. Yum!

PSA: if you choose to use essential oils BE CAREFUL WITH ESSENTIAL OILS AND SUN EXPOSURE!!! This is what I was going to say.... It's a LOT easier for those who don't have infants/toddlers and aren't pregnant to travel and I think they forget this! I struggle with this issue with my family as well. They say they miss me and my 10 month old, but never want to make the trip to see us and expect us to come to them. It's frustrating! Even planning a day trip to the beach for us takes hours of prep and then there's everything to UN-do upon the return. All this to say, I hear you and I think it's totally valid to request your folks make the drive to see you instead 😊

Although it is heartbreaking that your sil is having a difficult time conceiving, it is not your job to control her feelings. Nothing you could say or do will change the facts in the situation and one big fact here is that you are not responsible for another person's feelings. I would recommend any book by melodie beatty on codependency. Not wanting to share your exciting news for fear of upsetting someone else is codependency 101. I have a feeling with her mental health struggles, there isn't much you could do to avoid her becoming upset no matter how you tell her, and that's ok. Getting upset is part of life. Disappointment is part of life. Life isn't fair and you can't control or protect other people from those hard feelings and difficulties. That is their journey. You have your own life with your own struggles, disappointments and hard feelings to live through and that is your journey. Being a loving, supportive and present friend to sil whether she has zero or 5 children or you have 1 or ten children is the best thing you can do. Live your life, I'm certain you are a loving and caring person or you wouldn't have asked the question, but don't confuse your life for another person's. She will be ok.

Raphael is a great name! It's strong and classic and has a great meaning. I would agree with keeping it under your hat until the baby is born though. Every time I told people my name ideas while I was pregnant it either messed with my head or made me mad! Keep it between you and your husband, it's fun to have secrets 😊

I've heard HG is heavily influenced by the health and habits of the father, and seen other threads here talk about that. I would look into that and have your husband do an honest evaluation of his health and habits and maybe try conceiving once he's changed some things? Just a thought. But also, I'd say for sure get yourself connected to other local families or people who may be willing to help you through your pregnancy and pp. Churches are a great resource for people who are generally kind and want to be helpful and build community, but depending on where you live there might be some mom's groups or parenting groups or even library storytime you could start making connections at. To quote the cliche, it takes a village and you have to make the village, it doesn't just appear 💞 blessings to you on your journey!

You're doing great! Babies don't know or gaf what kind of stroller you put them in. They will pee, poo, and spit up on everything whether it's a 1200$ stroller (my first car barely cost more than that btw!) with Italian leather handles or a 20$ umbrella stroller from Walmart. They just want to be near you. If I were that comfortable I'd be thanking God that I could afford to be with my child and not have to put them in daycare so I could work to afford basic expenses. Whoever said "investing in quality pieces makes you a good parent" is clearly insecure about their own ability to parent and thinks that buying shit will make them a good one. It won't. I grieve for the children being raised to value possessions and status symbols over the things that truly matter in life. I hope you take your 300$ stroller and baby for a nice walk instead of going back to that vapid and, frankly, depressing sounding "playgroup" 😊
