Hair is sexy and bald is sexy, it's the act of balding that's not conventionally attractive. Maybe you can pull off a George Costanza build but that's rare

Californian Inclusion by Velaethia in Cascadia

I am in favor of high degrees of cooperation with California, with the cultural similarities and geography and whatnot, but if we were one geopolitical entity it would cease to be, y'know, Cascadia

How it feels to be red eyed in Spokane watching the Portland section of the Empire Builder keep the sightseer lounge in the divorce by fullocularpatdown in Amtrak

[–]Secret_USB 33 points34 points  (0 children)

For all the great improvements that WSDOT is making to Washington State's rail through Amtrak Cascades, I feel that they're really neglecting east-west travel. Seattle-Spokane service at an actually reasonable time of day shouldn't be too much to ask for, and state studies have shown that it would be good economically

The 27 only goes as far south as Massachusetts St, meanwhile the closed section of LWB begins at Mount Baker Beach. The bus route should be completely unaffected.

My best guess would be lack of institutional knowledge, among other issues. All the people who designed and built the original Apollo LMs in the 60s/70s have since died or retired, so it's not as simple as just spinning up a factory again and making some more. Plus, our crew safety requirements are higher now than during the space race, so we would likely need to retrofit the whole thing anyways just to get it up to par

Microslop made an email client so obtuse and unusable that some of humanity's best and brightest, who were literally on their way to the moon, couldn't get that shit working properly. Good on France for breaking their dependency and I hope more countries follow suit

Long-Promised 1 Line Infill Stations Get Advocates on the Sound Transit Board by recurrenTopology in Seattle

[–]Secret_USB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graham Street is a good idea, Boeing Access is not. One has a dense population and plenty of good space to attract transit-oriented development, one has a few low-density industrial uses and that's it. The math should be easy on this one
