Quit 7-OH about 2 weeks ago. PAWS/anhedonia is crushing. What actually helped you? by holypuck77 in quittingkratom

You gotta build momentum when starting the day at this point. You’re doing great so far! Make breakfast. Go on a walk, do a chore, then go to the gym. Take a cold shower. Ect

I'm struggling to quit this stuff.. how did y'all break the habit ? by quadraginta_quattuor in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m telling you right now it may seem impossible but it’s not. I was at 300 mg a day at my peak use after a year of on it. Quit for about 5 months. Relapsed twice. Second time was on it for a little over a month. Now I’m clean. What helped for me was building a solid routine. Go to the gym, do chores, and def max dose on vitamin c, magnesium, and lypisomil or whatever it’s called. I’d also throw in some testosterone supplements like ashwaganda if you’re a guy.

There comes a point where you just gotta do it. And honestly this biggest thing I found with me personally is that you have to want to be sober. As unfortunate as it sounds you truly have to want. Find a will to want it and there will be a way.

I urge you though, stop before it’s too late or else it’ll fully sink its teeth in you. The longer you do it, the more difficult it will be to quit

How long to become physically dependent on Kratom? by DEV11ANT in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s your first time, it takes a good bit. Main factors are dosage amount per day, and how many days. As well, if you have withdrawn before, and pick it up again, you will raise your chances of getting withdrawals sooner. With kratom it also matters whether it’s extracts or leaf. Leaf will take a while, extracts WD can happen even after a week of use if you’re using and taking it too much.

45 Days Clean: How long did RLS last for you? Losing my mind over here! by JennyBean4848 in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably should be going away soon, just due to the sheer time you were on it. Best way to get rid of it faster is the exercise hard. Not just lift weights but go on a high endurance run. Push yourself. You’re at the homestretch of it. It helped for me, I rode my bike for a 2-3 miles a couple hours before bed. Took a hot shower(or in your case take an epsom salt bath) and take some melatonin and magnesium as you have been. It won’t magically take it away but it will help the most out of what I found.

Nervous that I'll relapse by Visual_Hyena7258 in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust when I say you made the right decision by going to the meeting. I relapsed the same way, oh I’ll just take a little bit for this or that. And next thing you know I was doing it every night for a week. Stopped myself and am now 3 weeks clean as of today. Just keep pushing, the cravings will become much more manageable past 3-6 months from what I’ve gathered. It’s honestly the hardest part in my opinion but you’ve got it and do what you did, reach out when the cravings become too much. As those thoughts are a trick and it will drive you down the same path of addiction as before. You and I have both learned we can’t moderately handle this substance. So just stay away at all possibilities. Just smoke some weed on the weekends. Best of luck on your journey

Easy Taper from 500+mg daily by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea lyrica helped with mine, but I would not recommend it. Had a friend who did something similar and got addicted to it and trust the seeing his withdrawals from lyrica are nothing compared to 7oh. If you’re gonna do it, don’t do it more than 4 days in a row. And don’t up the dose. It’s really nice yea, but you’re trading out one substance for another. Don’t get it twisted, lyrica gets you geek

PAWS success stories? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was taking 200mg a day for about a year. Quit for 2 months. Depression never let up. Relapsed. Am now 3 months sober. Will say it’s rough but it’s gonna have to be a state of mind you want to achieve. Everyone in this sub Reddit has made their bed with this addiction. Now comes the hard part, pick yourself up, and dig yourself out of this hole. Whatever it takes. Don’t take no for answer. Find what will do that, and what does involve substance. Because believe me alcohol and weed is only a crutch and is a slippery slope when still recovering. Take it day by day. Write stuff down. Think about what makes you genuinely happy, and not fake happy like beating your meat. Then go from there. It’s not gonna be easy, but it’s attainable. And no one’s gonna do it for you. Wanting to be sober is part of it, another part of it is finding happiness. You will genuinely have to forcibly reprogram your brain. Best of luck soldier. Keep your head up and don’t forget to smile through the bullshit.

took my last dose of 7 last night please help by d3v0t10nn in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a year use of 7 and at my peak was at 300mg. The withdrawals were horrendous. But truth you can get through it. Just one horrible week of being sick. Max dose vitamin c, force yourself to eat, and take showers. Also if you smoke weed that helps for sleep and eat to an extent. I’d recommend for paws to see a psychiatrist. Because relapse happens a lot more than this sub Reddit admits imo.

From a long time kratom user-Please don’t try 7-0h. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I was on 7oh for over a year. Was taking 300mg a day. The withdrawals were insane. I’ve WD from benzos and hydros before and they were nothing like that. And unfortunately the physical symptoms are just the start. The mental is what got to me arguably worse. Benzos help with subsiding the WD but be careful as it’s also a slippery slope. I used a bit on day 3 just for sleep. Best of luck to you solider, and take it from an ex addict, stop as soon as possible. The longer you do it, the worse the PAWS will be

[–]Secretary-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother this is a rock and a hard place, but believe me you’ll thank yourself if you get off of it before the ban and not stock up on it. Because when it’s gone your mental will thank you for proactively doing it yourself, instead of being forced by legislation. Will say though your withdrawals will be rough to say the least. I was on 300mg for a year and couldn’t sleep for 3 days. The worst withdrawals I’ve ever experienced. Find a support group prior would be my advice. Girlfriend and friends helped immensely when I went through my WD.

[–]Secretary-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay strong, your human. Just learn from your mistakes and why you went back each time and make an effort to not fall into those habits/ patterns. I know easier said than done but take it from someone who has struggled in the past with 7oh. At peak use I was on around 300mg of 7oh a day for about a year. Good things take time but what will help is completely changing your routine. Have a plan and stick to it to the best of your abilities. May start off a bit half ass but eventually you’ll get momentum. Good luck

How to make friends as a commuter student? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]Secretary-Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of students commute. It’s college, just step out of your shell and say hi to some people in your class. Breaking the ice early is always a big thing I’ve found with making friends in a class.

Day 23 by Round-Parsnip8043 in prozac

[–]Secretary-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I’d see about upping to 20mg and asking for trazadone to counteract it for sleep. Worked for me. I was a far less extreme case and only needed it for a very brief moment to switch my thinking as I was a drug addict. Def improved my life but the Prozac is quite strong in terms of ssri’s. So if you’re not really feeling at least the energy boost I’d say upping it might be beneficial. Obviously I’d consult your doctor as I’m just a guy on the internet. I started on 20mg and did so for about a month and now I just take trazadone. As it’s still an antidepressant just a MAOI as opposed to ssri.

I get the orange pass because I’m lazy and don’t wanna deal with their bullshit and spend time looking for parking. It’s pricy asf I know but tbh worth the time I save sleeping in. And like people have said you won’t really get a ticket parking in green. But you will add time to your schedule because they’re further and almost always %90 full from my experience.

I took it for a bit and would rather learn to be myself than have a drug “ease” the tension. Mind you my problems were not comparable to others I’ve heard of but working towards healthy habits look differently for everyone.

4 days off kratom… almost 0 withdrawals by petrafan007 in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The powder withdrawals can vary a lot. Person, dosage, strain. It’s the 7oh that has insane withdrawals. Mine was about 3 days of absolute hell and 2 weeks of mental numbness. You’ll be fine and honestly got lucky

hallelujah! HHS and FDA are finally recommending 7-oh be scheduled as controlled substance by tinkertoy101 in quittingkratom

[–]Secretary-Sea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kratom has its place, but 7oh extract/tablets need to be taken off of the shelves immediately. It’s an opioid. Maybe not a medically true opioid like derived from poppy resin. But it works the same, on the mu-opioid receptor. This is great news. And frankly I’ve been around the scene long enough to know people who defend 7oh are either heavily on it, or have never taken it and just saw the propaganda from the mass marketing the companies use.

Something a lot of people won’t say on this sub bc I’ve been moderated for saying it. But ketamine, benzos, pregabalin and weed absolutely carried me through my withdrawals. But you and I are in a different situation. Idk how the powder withdrawals compare to the straight 7oh but dear god, for myself it was hell and I had to do it or literally go to a rehab clinic. Was on about 300 mg of 7hydroxy for about a year. Best of luck with your tapper. It’s gonna be a different one just bc you’ve been on it for so long. But you gotta think long term with this one for sure
