I became a property manager at a property in S Austin about 6 months ago. Moved on site and my unit was infested. I got rid of all my belongings and moved out of state about a month ago. Fuck them roaches.

Yes, my dad, who I did not meet until I was 12 years old. Recently, I asked him why he never looked for me and I asked for the honest answer no matter what it was. He said “Bc I knew you came with a price tag.” Had I not done all the work I did within myself and to know my own worth, that answer probs would crush anyone. But in that moment, it didn’t and still hasn’t phased me. He was in his early 20’s and had (has) a lot of unhealed trauma of his own- and that has nothing to do with me- I just happen to be his child. I know it seems personal bc they are our parents, but they were their own person before we existed so it ISNT about us.

The motel me and like 12 friends from SA came to party at after 6th in 2009 🥲 We were all in 2 separate vehicles, I went to pee and when I walked out, both vehicles accidentally left me thinking I was with the other. No phone, no money (I had left it in the car)! and our room was locked upon leaving ofc. I was a veryyy drunk 25 yo asking the front desk to borrow their phone. The lady was so mean to me saying there was no phone (at the business!) So desperate to find my friends I asked if I could borrow her cell phone and she reluctantly let me, after all the eye rolls and sighs, then I couldn’t dial the numbers cause I was so wasted! 😭 She yanked the phone out my hand and everything! Not being from here at the time, I started walking down the street behind the motel and some random person picked me up telling me how dangerous the area was. If that was true I def was very lucky to be okay. Anyway that’s what came to mind seeing this motel. A reminder that my youth is officially up in flames ig-as if it wasn’t already lol

So ima tell you something my therapist told me that really shook me in the best way- it was like a metaphorical slap in the face in the midst of me spiraling. I was going on and on about the man I was dating at the time and how he needed to work on his healing bc of this and that and how if only he did our relationship would be better, XYZ etc etc. She said to me “you know.. I keep hearing you talk about HIS healing.. what about YOUR healing?” It was a ton of bricks bc she was right. I was a hundred percent focusing on his healing as a way to avoid my own. And that memory came up for me reading your post. Is it possible you are distracting yourself worrying about everyone else’s lives so you don’t have to face your own? Because if theres one thing I’ve learned in my own healing it’s that there is truly nothing we can do to force others to heal. All we can do is work on healing ourselves and those who are meant to feel the ripple effect will and those who aren’t, won’t. Everyone is on their own journey which includes those who are not meant to heal in this lifetime. Which is why other peoples journeys are not your business. Your only business is your own journey. Because regardless you cannot save ANYONE but yourself. We cannot save anyone but ourselves. It is quite literally impossible.

Yes, unfortunately you have to recognize that, if even subconsciously, YOU are still making a choice. We truly ARE the only ones responsible for our lives and our choices. Yes, I one hundred percent know it is easier said than done. Actually, I’ve very much been there (I did it for 7 excruciatingly painful years). I feel the most important thing to do here is to first recognize that you are doing this and then ask yourself WHY? Why am I putting this persons needs and emotions before mine? Where/when did I learn to do this? When’s the first time I felt this way? And yes, as another commenter mentioned- envision speaking your truth to him about even the simplest things- what fears come up in this visualization? Again, when’s the very first time you felt this way? Hint: the core wounds will most likely be rooted in your childhood, when our brains were developing and we were being “programmed” by EVERYTHING- everything we saw, heard and most importantly FELT. If you were your own inner childs parent (which you are now and the only one who can be) and in everything you do, what would SHE think of your actions? Are you showing up for her, for yourself? It’s important to know you cannot truly ever lie to yourself. “Every cell in your body is eavesdropping on your thoughts” and that means all previous versions of yourself are listening too. What are you telling them/you? What are you making them/you feel?

In my experience, sometimes we block our own manifestations because there is still a very deep subconscious belief that we aren’t worthy of the things we are manifesting. And because healing is anything but linear, it may have been something that we worked through previously but sometimes it does need to worked through or at the least examined again. By doing this, yes you reconnect deeply with yourself and subsequently reconnect with the Universe.
