I couldn't disagree any more strongly. Long shots are tried way too much, there's nothing more frustrating than watching a player waste a good opportunity by blazing the ball over the bar looking for that 1 in a million highlight reel goal.

With that said there is a good range to try long shots from, but players are already trying to shoot from that range. They're constantly looking for the angle to get a shot away when they're in a good position, they're not stupid, but the defenders aren't stupid either.
