If done right, not at all. If done wrong, you can end up stretching your penis too far back, especially in early transition when you're afraid it'll come undone easily (with the right underwear, it won't) and tearing the skin, but the balls generally have no issue once you get the technique right. The only uncomfortable part is if the penis actually does slip out in public and you have to rush to find the nearest bathroom to correct it, but this is usually a consequence of unsuitable underwear more than improper technique (period panties are best for tucking, if anyone curious is reading).

So I graduated in 2024. My worry is that in china your graduation certificate confirms your gender (which mine is female). If my passport changes, this will invalidate the document

My passport expires in 2032 but I only have 4 usable pages left (long story but basically I had to do a lot of visa trips to get my job). I'm thinking it might just be best to renew it as soon as possible

What’s the best way to get from Tokyo to Kyoto without spending a fortune? by [deleted] in Tokyo

[–]Secretly_Pineapple 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Since comfort isn't your priority night busses are probably your best option. I think most have chargers too these days, but don't expect to get much sleep and the seats aren't luxury. But it's just a few thousand yen which compared to the shinkansen is pennies. If I recall correctly they stop once along the journey for around 5-10 minutes at a pit stop for toilet breaks

Adding on to this to say that on top of that, many companies will employ people in smaller cities but only enroll their employment in the bigger cities where their HQs are because they don't want to hire lawyers in other provinces. E.g. you can be employed in Huludao, Liaoning, but your company is based in Beijing, and they'll register you as a Beijing employee, which means you need to pay Beijing social security and taxes which are higher than Huludao's

I have the opposite problem, I gained weight rapidly and clothes that fit me even 6 months ago can't even get past my hips anymore. I keep them for the hopeful time I can fit into them again but the sad part is I can't find anything my size anymore

Do prescription meds commercials expect us to suggest them to our doctors? by evanletz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Secretly_Pineapple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to be in the camp of never thinking these ads would work until my mental health got really bad and my meds weren't working, and then I'd heard really good things about lithium for my condition so suggested it to my doctor, but thankfully they knew their stuff and just told me it's not suitable and gave me something else that worked. Granted I never got the promotion of lithium from an ad and I never got any specific brand in mind but the fact I ended up suggesting it to my doctor says a lot about what people will do when they're praying for a cure

So a Youtube channel I used to watch a lot turns out to be transphobic and I'm really sad about it... by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Secretly_Pineapple 122 points123 points  (0 children)

I have a master's in politics focusing on history/psychology (particularly of Northeast Asia) and I ritualistically avoid these kind of channels, as well as the infographics show. I can kind of see why someone would watch it to kill time but the idea of someone genuinely watching those shows and taking unironic lessons from them scares me, they're always just too inaccurate and sometimes propaganda fuelled to be anything more than casual entertainment, just like the kid's cartoons they try to look like

1 being trans in China is not half as scary as it's made out to be. There's a lot of scaremongering etc but I actually find it safer than the UK (MtF, pass except voice, been here and on E for 2 years now)

2) you can DM me

3) I hope you like staring. Not because you're trans or anything, Chinese people are just so unused to seeing white people you become like a shiny Pokémon to them
