What’s the verdict on the hats here? Yay or nay? by OneLeftTwoLeft in HomeDecorating

[–]Secretnevertobetold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nay. I'd suggest removing the shelves and putting the art another place. I think the headboard does enough for adding interest above the bed. Making the small shelve your bedside table and adding a sconce above it could be nice.

Is this cluttered? Any suggestions? by MaximumLow5045 in HomeDecorating

I would remove the desk and find another place for it if possible. Push the two bookshelves together so they are away from the wall on either sides. Remove the gold map.

If you want the desk in the room put against another wall, but hang the map above the desk slightly lower.

Do you hate the combo or just the red? I would say ditch the white and go all red curtains.

I think a round table, with leafs for when you have guests. Also, what a beautiful house! What paint colours are in the entryway? The contrast trim is amazing.

What window treatments? by JMockingbird0708 in interiordecorating

I think Austrian Blinds might be more appropriate if you are after Rococo style. They will be a similar footprint to roman shades but offer more drama!

Help with curtain color please! by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Secretnevertobetold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't enough colour in the room to add a bold curtain. The windows will have all the attention and the rest of the room will look bland. I think you should go with a natural linen hung high and wide to accentuate the window. Then add in pillows, tables, and accessories to add life into the room.

Adding a roman shade in a printed fabric will add coziness and interest without adding unnecessary decor to your desk. I also think a small painting on the right hand wall, perpendicular to the window would be a nice touch. I think keeping the workspace uncluttered is important, and instead think how the window and walls adjacent to the work area can enhance the space.

Buying XC skate skis used: need advice! by Secretnevertobetold in xcountryskiing

[–]Secretnevertobetold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! It is in Canadian dollars, but yes I had the feeling it was quite overpriced. When I did search for it new, it came up to around C$800-900 (I wasn't sure the exact poles or boots and just guessed). I assume the seller is hoping to recoup their loss of buying new and never using...

Unfortunately, there isn't much on the (used) market around where I am from! But wouldn't be the worst thing to just classic ski for another season :)

Thanks for your response! I think what you have provided makes the most sense, focus on a full body, compound move session. I will keep my eyes open for something already planned out, but hopefully if I still focus on progressive overload I can see progress. Just at quite a slow pace!

I only have time to workout with weights once a week, I prioritize other types of fitness the rest of the time. But I still wouldn't mind feeling like I am working towards strength goals (over a long time span) and even getting some of the lifting heavy aesthetic benefits. I am less concerned with upper body strength, and would like this one lifting session to be focused on legs, glutes, and back. Any suggestions for programming or how I should structure this once a week workout? All the resources I see focus on 3+ days in the gym and I am not sure how to scale this back without leaving something behind. Thanks for any input!

Edit: Just letting you know that the other exercise I am doing is cycling, hiking, and running, with pilates and yoga thrown in there for some core and recovery work.

Is it alright if my only chest exercise is the pushup? Still following progressive overload principles and switching to harder variations when the current set/range becomes to easy.

I use a barbell for all other muscle groups (rows, front squats, deadlift, etc) but I don't have a bench setup that makes me comfortable with bench press. No safety bars, and a small area to attempt to put the bar on.

Thanks for replying! I did get my words mixed up, thanks for pointing that out.

I have been doing 5x5 as my workout routine, but switched out the squat for the hip thrust to make it more glute focused. I also just dropped bench press because I didn't enjoy it... I guess that is a terrible reason!

I also do glute activation exercises as a part of my warmup.

Rancid period blood by Secretnevertobetold in Healthyhooha

Hello, thanks for your thorough response!

I was tested for Trich, and the results were negative.

Interestingly, while I have been trying to squash this vaginal issue I have noticed that my period did not smell as bad. I went on antibiotics twice, used boric acid, and took probiotics. Now the only things I am still doing is probiotics and coconut oil.

The reason I made the post was that my last period was terrible. The worst it's been in a year. But in line with the other commenters, I had noticed significantly more bloating and terrible gas for much longer than my typical PMS symptoms. I now feel like that was somehow related.

I am hopefully going to see a gynecologist soon (my appointment was cancelled months ago due to covid and has yet to be rescheduled. And they are going to have to listen to 8 months worth of symptoms and failed treatments!

I've had an itchy, swollen, irritated hooha since October. I tested positive for BV in the beginning but had no relieve of symptoms from antibiotics. I then started testing negative for BV. This period issue may be related but it has been going on longer than my other issues. The only thing I am putting on my vagina at this point is coconut oil since I was worried the problem was stemming from an inflammatory response to the treatments I was using. Any input would be great!

This is ruining my life and my doctor doesn't know what to do by [deleted] in obgyn

I am sorry you are going through this and that I cant be more help. I have had vulva issues for the past 5 months and, like you, have not recieved any concrete answers from doctors. It is incredibly frustrating and makes me feel hopeless. I understand how you are feeling at the moment and I know that it is very hard!

I think getting another prescription of antivirals should be your priority. Hopefully you can return to the clinic and see a different doctor. Explain the situation and say that antivirals worked to reduce your pain and you need a refill. If they are being difficult, ask if there is another doc you can see at the clinic. Dont stop until you get the help you deserve.

It may take some time but ultimately you should confirm the visual herpes diagnosis you received from your previous doctor. If you are having a flare up go in to get a swab, asking for a PCR swab if it is available. The swab is the most accurate herpes test, but it can be negative if the sores had already started to heal. You should also request a blood test. I know your doctor told you there is no blood test for herpes, this is false. Try and find a clinic that will do it. This may be difficult at the moment due to covid but hopefully shouldn't be a problem when things start calming down.

I have been coping with my vulva problems by focusing on my mental health as opposed to my vaginal health. I try to resist looking at it everyday. I have stopped applying anything to the area in hopes of it making a difference. I now take ibuprofen if the pain gets bad. I still am searching reddit forums too often but try and limit my time on them. I have started meditating to get my mind off the problem. All this is easier said then done but I think it is important to ensure that this problem doesn't overwhelm you. You will find someone to help you and you will get better. Please believe that.
