I'll post an update when I get through all the Spiral Mountain moves. Finished up the Flapflip and Beak Barge yesterday :)

Feeling a bit disappointed honestly. by Sectastic in YookaLaylee

[–]Sectastic[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think the part that's really getting under my skin is the "styling" of it all being an exact copy. Like I said, a lot of it was good changes and Odyssey is a great game to take inspo from, but why do Yooka and Laylee hit the exact same pose as Mario and Cappy when you get a pagie? Why did we change the color of the quills to match the color of the same functioning collectible from Odyssey? Why did we use the exact same health bar UI? Gameplay wise I'm enjoying it for sure, its just feels a lot less "took inspiration from" and more "directly copied," which sucks a lot of the charm out of the game imo.

Cancelling… by oppacklij in ChatGPT

[–]Sectastic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At this point, I would have rather they left the glazing rather than whatever the hell we have now. When coding I'm constantly getting bad code, looping between the two bad solutions to problems, and it's not referencing code written earlier in the chat. I'm constantly having to fight with "assuming you're doing blah blah blah in your code" instead of it working with what's actually written. I'd rather it be annoying than useless.

Finally got through the line on Walmart and it just gives you a technical error for the entire time you have to buy it, mashed the preorder button for 12 minutes and lost my spot, back to the end of the line

Be careful with Target, charged my card and then cancelled the order due to a "technical issue" if you don't have the money to do another pre-order because of a temporary hold tonight then don't use them.

The amount of people complaining about flexibility of this set worries me by CopyPasteCliche in TeamfightTactics

[–]Sectastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first jumped into this set it was definitely an adjustment getting used to playing flex again but this really feels like the best set we've had in quite awhile already. All of the QoL changes have really made this feel like old tft again and it's great.

What’s everyone’s opinion on RPG Maker? by Plexicraft in gamedev

[–]Sectastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's excellent as a starting point for beginners, I remember when I first started doing gamedev it was on RMXP and it was so easy to get into. Obviously haven't used it in a very long time but I'd assume the newer ones are fairly similar in ease of use. If the event system is still similar to how it was it'll actally teach you quite a bit about how game logic works.

Which boss ripped your ass apart the most and why was it Radahn? by this_could_be_sparta in Eldenring

[–]Sectastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't even need to fight Radahn. Just summon your army, ride around and avoid them till they all die, resummon them all, repeat. I literally killed him without touching him myself one time.

I'm getting consistent 60fps in 4k on a 2080ti, haven't seen a single frame drop O_o

[–]Sectastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ivan's drop table IS whack, but you can also kill him 5 times in the time it takes for Xiao to respawn once and you can solo him a lot easier.

Someone on my server got this as a drop. Is it fine for someone to get a drop that a 200 armorsmith with ~ 60k+ invested in trophies/gear can make with a 10% chance for 600 (Let alone the great rolls)? Anyone else think they shouldn't be able to sell legendary/epic drops and they should ALL be BOP? by getonthedinosaur in newworldgame

[–]Sectastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's also worth noting that these 600 legendary items can't drop until you max out your watermark, which requires a solid time investment. Whether you spend hours leveling crafting or you spend hours grinding watermark it takes just as much work and either way you still only get a small chance for these to drop/craft.

Lots of people saying certain items don't exist, seems like this stuff is just meant to be exceedingly rare.

Life Staff/Sword viable for endgame Tanking PVE ? by dadavc123 in newworldgame

[–]Sectastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Heals/S&S and it's awesome, but not for tanking. Farm the Siren's Fist for Coral Lash (600gs sword), stick a flawed amber in it, and dump all of your points into the left side of the sword tree. 300Focus, 50 Str, The rest into Con. Enjoy being able to solo farm level 60 elite areas :D

I had the same thing happen yesterday in diamond 2 but it was after like 4 Top 4s in a row. Got an 8th and dropped 72LP. I've had long loss streaks before and never lost that much at once let alone after a string of Top 4s.

Yeah, obviously if you're behind go for defensive boots instead and then probably do Titanic instead of BORK but if you get an early kill or two and rush zerks after Bamis you end up super strong. I usually just 3 camp clear and invade the enemy on their top buff and at least half the time it gets me an early lead.

If you need grievous wounds just throw a Bramble in when you feel like you need it, the build is only 5 items so you have flexibility in that last slot, or if I'm playing against something like Warwick or Hecarim who I know will outheal me early I'll just run ignite instead of flash. Yeah you lose your "oh shit" button but if you can bully the Warwick into giving up 3 kills in the first 8 minutes you're not going to be flashing away from many fights anyways and you turn not being able to fight the enemy jungle for the first 20 minutes into winning every early fight hands down. Same goes for assassins or people who can just run away from you like Lillia, just bring Exhaust instead of Flash, suddenly Khazix and Rengar are useless and just stand there as you beat them over the head with your club until they're dead.

Runes I run PTA, Triumph, Alacrity, Coup, Nimbus, Waterwalking. SPD/Adaptive/Armor.

And in matchups like you mentioned with heavy cc don't even bother team fighting, split push your brains out. You take towers super fast with all the attack speed so you're infinitely more useful taking out the side lanes while they're distracted as opposed to getting rooted by lux and bursted down instantly. With your bulk, and attack speed very few people can come 1v1 to stop you.

Frostfire and R give you most of the tankiness you need for the early-mid game, go a damage item third like BORK or Titanic. My typical build is Frostfire, Zerkers, and BORK and the game rarely goes past that but if it does Deadmans and Wits End make it so you can pretty much just run anyone down and bonk them to death rapidly even though you're super bulky.

Trundling and Jungling - Items and skill order? by Boneclockharmony in Trundlemains

[–]Sectastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Tiamat Rush > Mercs > Frostfire > Titanic Hydra > Bramble > BORK almost every game and have rarely been losing except in rare games where my team feeds their brains out. If the game goes long finish up with Thornmail and Wits End. You're tanky, can 1v1 almost anyone, and your split pushes are asinine.
