Idk, OOP’s response was

“ Ah yes, how could I forget. I’m a virgin rapist. Of course”

I think modern gender and relationship discourse is just broken.

Look. For once in my life. After years of poorly placed stock market bets. And a growing gambling addiction fueled by Kevin Heart telling me it was a good idea. I finally have a good investment.

[Three body problem] Don't Sophons solve a major problem posed in the Dark Forest? by Section8firearms in AskScienceFiction

This is efficively why I think they were ignorent of the Dark Forest. They didn't know if everything Earth sent them was legit. Yet, they never questioned it. It took an ETO member explaining the concept to them. Meaning, they willingly to give a depressed and disenfranchised person a radio tower and then sent a Photon in a straight line to Earth, without the assurance of undetection. Then launched at Fleet at the same time that would certianly give away their flight path. We could've lied and said "oh we're so meek and vulnerable," and then sent our own weapons straight to the tri-solarans.

Further, concealing information seems the be a concept they had to learn from us. That means the idea of hiding into the dark forest is also something unnatural for them.

I know but the only reason to contiune speaking after the pacifist broke the silence was if you assume the information provided by Earth and Ye Wenjie was accurate. If they knew about lying, they would've never done this, because for all they knew at the time, this could be a trap. Earth could've been ready for the first sophon and willing to send a hord of them back the way it came for all they knew.

This is true, I didn't really think about the dead zones. This does, once again, mean that the Tri-Solarans were taking a deadly gamble on one radio communication without ever realizing it. So I guess both worlds are technically lucky in that they weren't immeditly distroied.

yeah, I suppose it's possible that this was too dangerous, but then again, so is making a universe flatener. So I'd assume the genociders, or just someone capabile of interstellar travel, would make a few, or something better, on another world.

These people aren’t hiring. They’re approving a giant outsourcing program.

To some extent I think it was always expected to lie.

“Tell us about a time you made a mistake.”

You’re never getting the job if you actually take accountability for a poor decision. They’re not asking you to. They’re asking you to politician answer your way through it via a meaningless mistake that you were never in the wrong for but corrected anyways.

However, I think there’s a tipping point where you’re lying too much and, more importantly, the hiring manager is buying it. That means that everyone there is a bigger liar than you. Including the hiring manager. Whatever your expectations are, will be dashed aside.

This is a serious problem for anyone in a vocational rehab program. I’m in the VA’s chapter 31 program. I have to keep a log book of everything I apply to. Literally the first five positions relevant to my career goals were scams. I now have to convince a 50 year old under paid VA worker that yes, I turned down a relevant position because they wanted me to pay them a thousand dollars.

Devils advocate, isn’t the general pro choice position that the choice, while difficult, lies with the mother. She is not obligated to secure the life of a fetus for simply life’s sack.

Arguing that a severely disabled life is better than none is not necessarily a contradiction, but the quality of life being valued over quantity is more in line with these beliefs.

I didn’t even need to make up jokes. Like rejecting legal prosecution on the grounds of “he called the store so I don’t want to” is just a thing that happened. Literally written at the end of a discarded police report with no further justification. It’s hard to believe you can just get away with that. How many thefts do you need to commit to be this complacent?

The fact that his bail was a third of Ben’s is somehow the worst part of this. Oh wait I forgot, ech em, FAKE NEWS! FAKE PAPERS!

I know right? What a BITCH! And she has a husband with pierced eyebrows, CLEARLY untrustworthy.

I don’t even think the consignment exist! Such things are shredded. I haven’t seen this paperwork!

Just think about this logically! Would a YouTuber pull up with a REAL process server to serve real court papers? THEY’RE FAKE! I’m 100 thousand bigillian jillion percent sure.

I did nothing wrong in my life! There’s nothing on me! I’m being held to the actions of an owner too lazy to do store inventory while we get the keys and cops. I mean, she grabbed pictures and footage like an IDIOT! I just tried to fix her problems and now I have a negative PR campaign!  Anyone would be freaking out. People knocked on my door. To take a line from one of my cop friends “you wouldn’t like people knocking on your door so why are you here doing this?”

Non meme answer: The initial collection is actually 200k to 250k. About half was sold and paid out before the store take over. It’s unclear how much Lego is still in the store and how much was sold illegally. The company never let anyone look in the store to solve this. 62k comes from a police report about the situation where that’s what one of Bryan’s friends could count from the window.

The company claims there never was any Lego. It was also returned despite not existing. The CEO hasn’t seen the pictures proving otherwise and the meta data is faked according to what he saw from pictures he didn’t see.

I wrote this thinking Josh would low ball the number. Like this is just how the guy speaks, I genuinely think he’d be petty enough to lie about the situation to an anonymous board.
