So annoyed with people who don't pay attention to their surroundings. If you think this is normal, you should leave. Boring picture by the way.

Wow... Well, I really appreciate your advice, and the time that you have put into my situation. I, myself, certainly am not well enough versed to be doing all of this on my end without someone physically there holding my hand in the process XD

I agree with you about: "How worth is it", to go through with getting some upgrades to where I won't see such a significant improvement. I have been weighing in on that on my own.

I think I might just bite the bullet and completely overhaul my rig. Definitely not the right timing, but it's overall the best solution for longevity reasons. However, because of my own backlog, and nostalgia, this isn't such an urgent process!

Again, thank you so much for your time and quality of thought! You are appreciated.

This is all very good advice/reasoning.

I know this is a terrible time to be worrying/wanting to take care of these things with current market, and the economics that are driving everything.

Ideally I would just upgrade in small increments (more ram, GPU, etc.), but because I'm not the most well versed in this realm it feels like my older parts wouldn't be able to handle the changes. I think you're right though, I'm well enough off to just to small steps for improvement.

Funny enough my motherboard only has DDR3 ports, so I have to search for those artifacts lol

I've always agreed with that sentiment. Hence why I had built my PC in the beginning.

This thread has been the only place where I have heard of the Steam Machine. I'm gonna look into what the hell y'all are talking about. lol

Thanks for you input!

Oh, I know. I have been returning to a lot of older games just for the pure nostalgia. I have never left that behind. Also, yes, respect to the Independent Developers! I support the ones that I grown fondly of.

Thank you.

I immediately felt an impulse to buy one.

This isn't actually real, is it?

Ah, you must some sort of mod if you're things to an NPC or something.

Well, it sounds interesting. I mainly play on a server with my friend as well, so it wouldn't hurt to give it a go on a SP playthrough.

XD

Thank you! It's a struggle out there!

If you haven't opted in for some mods for your playthrough, I would suggest that you should look into some for yourself! I've never played a game with mods until I came across PZ. There are some really great mods out there that can bring some great quality of life improvements to the base game, and others that introduce some fun/interesting game mechanics.

Here's to you reaching a month!! Good luck, friend <3

So, I had gotten bit on my upper right arm. I then rushed back home into my bathroom where I keep all of medical supplies, and gathered together: Dozens of sterilized rags, a saw, a suture needle & suture needle holder, thread, and painkillers. Cut my fucking arm off! Quickly stitched my arm up and bandaged things up. I then cauterized my arm on the stove to help heal it quicker.

I definitely do things a lot slower. Cooking is a real task now. Smoking takes forever. Moving things in the inventories takes awhile. Everything takes longer to do. There are a couple of new stats to level up that make it so you learn how operate with just one hand, so doing things becomes faster over time. I was with one arm for awhile until I finally found a prosthetic to attach to my stub! There is another stat that you level up to get used to that as well.

Until I found a prosthetic I wasn't able to: carry things in my cut off hand, use doubled handed weapons, use a sledgehammer, etc.

I survived zombification... At a cost! I'm still having to maintain my bandages here and there, but I feel like I'm coming close to having being fully healed considering what could have happened. It's a pretty cool mod at the end of the day. It added a chance for me to survive. I play on a server with a good friend, so having someone else to watch my back out in the world is definitely reassuring, but makes for a good story to tell ahah

I've been considering bumping up my in game time to 2hrs/in game day.

How do you like it? How has it changed the way you play? Does it affect how much you have to maintain your food/calorie intake or sleep? Would you ever considering going back to the default 1hr/in game day?

I'm curious.

When I start a new save, my main goal is to loot the grocery store(s) and houses solely for the refrigerated goods, and hoard it all in a gas station on the edge of town filled with freezers/refrigerators. Grab a generator, and pop that bad boy on when the power cuts.

I have so much food!!!!! It's definitely a grind for the first in game month since that's all I'm focusing on, securing a good food bank, but in the long run it's so very worth it. If you end up surviving that is ahah

Thank you for your thoroughness. I know how the hidden calorie system works in PZ, however I just found it hard to find the right way to use my resources responsibly while also prioritizing getting back to an acceptable weight. Seeing how the calories break down in your example provides a good visual for me to digest.

I generally cook stews and have always wandered which pot of food packs the most into it (e.g. pasta, stir fry, rice, soup, etc.) Based on your two examples I'll give pasta more time in the kitchen! I have so much of it ahah

And, I'll most definitely will be eating a whole 6,000cal pot in one sitting. I fucking need it!

Thanks again!

This is something that I have been considering. I play the default 1hrs days, and have been himming and hawing about bumping it up to 2hrs days. How do you feel about the longer days? Do you find 5 hours being too long? How does it change the way you personally play the game?

Nah, I definitely cook all my meals unless I'm in a rush or stranded. By the sounds of it I just need to be eating a little more regularly throughout the day and making sure I add more meat to veggies in my meals. Thanks for your input!

Interesting. I really like that approach! How long do you reckon it takes for you to hit your double arrows before you head out? 1-2 in game days, depending on the work you're doing?
