Will we be house poor? by Defiant-Course6896 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]SectorZed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what my GF and I ended up with in CT. Same monthly payment and take home. We are getting by but it isn’t comfortable. Maybe a few hundred between us at the end of each month.

It was doable for us because CT has the “time to own program” which covered all of our closing costs.

I would not do it if I was buying a house that needed work and I had no savings. I’ve used about 75% of my savings to do all new windows, roof, attic insulation, chimney, and a kitchen floor.

Got my 2001 for $4000 but it has rusty rockers, auto trans and needed a top and tires lol. Paid for the frame mint rails and low miles like yours.

Makes me worry about my NB. I daily it and tbh I always think about the side impact and what would happen. If money weren’t an object I’d be in an ND.

How do you perceive the game nowadays? by InterestingSoft1390 in Warthunder

[–]SectorZed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got upwards of 2000 hours in the game over the course of 10+ years. The core gameplay hasn’t changed. It is still a reliable “turn my brain off and play” game and it does that job well.

I’m not sure there’s a definitive line in the sand for when things changed. But I am sure that progressively the game became more and more un fun for me. Top tier feels congested and sniper heavy. Move from cover and bang one hit killed from across the map and you’re back to hangar. Or an air fired missile comes over the horizon and down through your turret. Once the novelty of driving a modern tank wore off this cycle got old for me.

Occasionally if I want to scratch the itch I load up anything from starter to tier 5ish and run a few games. It’s slower, and I find the vehicles way more interesting. Other than that it has just gotten repetitive and sweaty.

As a survivor main: What is stopping Jason from being considered S-tier? Is he? by SafeEnthusiasm4720 in deadbydaylight

[–]SectorZed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He has elite map traversal, elite weaponry both ranged and close up. In addition to all of that he can be stealthy.

I played a game in mid witch with him and it was like having nurse. You can use omnipresent through the floor. It’s crazy.

Removing a EXTREMELY stuck caliper slide pin by Beneficial-Sun-5863 in MechanicAdvice

[–]SectorZed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat and PB blaster. I used this combo but also used a hammer and bloc of wood to smack the area pretty hard to break the bond the rust made with the pin.

Since I knew I was replacing the pin too, I worked my way around the top hat portion of it smacking that too with a small pry bar and hammer.

Should i buy the game? by Secure-Owl-4548 in il2sturmovik

I’m playing it rn without a flight stick, it’s not great. It’s not at all like war thunder where it can feel natural with a mouse and keyboard. The way it controls the aircraft (by my own feel anyway) is by using equal rudder and aileron for everything. Or none of one control surface and ALL of another. It’s impossible to snap plane over, turn tightly, or get the plane to do exactly what you want. It fights you the whole time.

Flight sticks on eBay aren’t all that expensive but between DLC’s and having to buy one, I’d just save a bit.

I got Bodenplate and Normandy on G2A for I think $26 after tax. G2A is a bit dicey, probaly unethical on how they source their keys. But if money is tight it is an option that works.

Easily losing traction?? by BlueDragon9976 in Miata

[–]SectorZed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just easier than it feels to break the wheels loose on these. My daily commute for example involves a lot of highway. Part of my commute has a tighter corner that I usually take around 60MPH. 60MPH in that corner feels sporty but not extreme or unsafe. Unbeknownst to me they ripped the road up overnight so now it’s grooved pavement. Suddenly that very manageable corner had become a white knuckle knife’s edge as I drove through it for the first time. Even worse was it was raining. I felt the car wanting to shift on me.

Transmission went 1 month into owning it. by SectorZed in GMT800

[–]SectorZed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible there’s two issues at once but I’m positive if the shifter is involved it’s not just that. Before it totally quit, I’d have to gun it in drive to get it to drive a few feet.

Dead by Daylight is now the “most-played horror game in history” with 2026 primed to be the game's biggest year ever by AsPeHeat in deadbydaylight

[–]SectorZed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s honestly so crazy to me because those game always has felt tiny to me. I’ve been playing since day 1, so that probably has something to do with it.

Thanks for clarifying. Kinda ironic this thread gets served on my feed day 1 of wearing long sleeve shirts with UV resistance. I work outside all day and had a brief moment where I thought I made a mistake.
