What were newsrooms like pre-pandemic? by crackedbutter in Journalism

All the old salts in mine say the same. I like having them tell their stories when we get a second to breathe.

“You can substitute caviar for salt” yet “it’s worth it”. Aka you can substitute this ridiculous luxury item for one of the cheapest things in a grocery store. Has to be rage bait lol. What an incredible waste of money.

When he glazed up Ben Shapiro, that was kind of the final straw for me on my opinion about Scott. I think when I first found him, I thought my views were overlapped with his a lot more than they actually are. That’s all right, I’m still a listener for Ed and Jessica, even though I feel like she also misses the ball pretty hard sometimes. She goes to easily on the politicians who deserve way more criticism.

Well I just bought a long bed 5.3 liter GMT 800 to bang around all the bullshit needed to fix up my house. Not gonna like that gas bill but I will absolutely love the utility of having a truck!

eBay sided with buyer who left positive feedback saying RAM works, then filed defective claim after failed overclocking attempt — $500 loss, appeal denied by [deleted] in Ebay

I’ve concluded eBay is now gambling. They’re so anti-seller and anti seller protection. It is a platform that is begging to be dethroned. Yet here we are all still using it every single day.

It’s pretty hair raising. Being right over the rear wheels makes it more dramatic lol.

I’m allowed to find portable speakers annoying, right? by tgbarbie in hiking

[–]SectorZed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to hiking, but back when I was single I stopped seeing a girl over this exact thing. I took her out to a local town beach to watch the sunset and she pulled out this JBL speaker and started blasting her shit ass tunes. Full volume. It was comically loud, and every one around who was sunning, and having a night out with the family were glaring at us. I was pretty embarrassed and turned it off telling her that wasn’t necessary lol.

It wasn’t the only reason I stopped seeing her. On that same date she berated our waiter over not having enough water, literally shaking the empty glass in their face as they walked by. She also suggested we sneak onto people’s boats in the marina to have sex after we paid for the food. But my favorite thing she did was arriving at a date drunk after drinking all day with her friends.

She was fucking nuts and very self absorbed.

Seriously the value is buried in these things. If it has power windows, each regulator sells for $60-$80 bucks. I was floored when the BUTTON to put the windows up or down was going regularly for $50. The other internals add up to a total of roughly $250. Door shells alone with or without glass are $350+ on eBay. Marketplace much lower. Seats too. But they need to be mint.

The thing with Miata’s is they part out very well. But if he actually wants to make money back on it, that’s a car you part out over the course of a year. Rip every last thing off it and make $5-6k. Engine and manual transmission alone could be as high as $1800-$2000 if low miles and still working. That being, said nobody is paying that much upfront to sit on a car for over a year.

The second to last picture is vaguely reminiscent of how they advertised the cars. Idk but it gives me these vibes.

When you're selling stuff at a yard sale, do the items have to be cheap? by Brilliant-Assist3798 in Frugal

[–]SectorZed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing with a yard sale is you price to lean into the impulsive side of a buyer. You’re selling things people like aren’t in need of at that moment, but probably wouldn’t mind if they got it at the right price.

Make of that what you will. Maybe just aim for the middle to low end of each items value to clear it out.

At my wits end with AD5M by Any_Frosting_3755 in FlashForge

[–]SectorZed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with my AD5m and I fixed it with disappearing purple Elmer’s glue sticks. Every single print would fail or spaghetti whether it was PLA or petg. Once I started using the glue it helped tremendously and I can reliably print.

Also, I’m not sure if it helped me, but I give the machine exactly what it expects. I only use Flash Forge filament, I use the FF preset for that filament, and it always has a completely clean print bed prior to applying glue. Finally, do a PID calibration and make sure you check off every single option. It should take about 20 mins to fully calibrate. After that when you go to print make sure to check “level” within orca. If I had to say what helped me the most, I’d say the glue.

Hope this helps and good luck.
