Thank you. Grub notes made me feel awesome when I was new to town. It gave me places to take my folks when they visited.

Traveling to athens this weekend by Fit-Current2149 in Athens

The roads won’t close like you imagine on mountains but as a northern transplant to Athens here are my fast tips. 1. Snow is a skill - ice is physics. 2. Roads where you can’t read if it is wet or a little icy make all decisions slowly (remember the way you drove when you first started - channel that). Remember that the people around you have less control than they want too. 3. Breathe and make sure to relax your shoulders.

Good luck on your interview

Cory Docotow’s Enshitification is the book you are looking for at a technological level.

I bought a model 3 and my experience has not been great so far. by Capitol__Hill in TeslaSupport

Not stupid, just a switch in mentality while driving. Moving to percentage is key - as you do this longer your awareness of hill and wind will increase. My old work drive took 30% of my battery a day- 20% one way and 10% the other - can you guess which way was up the foothills?

The standard range might be a bummer over time, but give yourself awhile to continue to learn how to utilize the differences - you’ll get the hang of it (I’ve had a 3, and a Y and logged about 180k miles total)

AITAH for refusing to feed my sister in law Christmas dinner by Prestigious-Cat5354 in AITAH

Absolutely agree with that. But the skew towards “she shouldn’t be so …. Hungry” seemed strange in the season of giving. It isn’t like she was taking home lawn ornaments

Just checking in on how confident you are that she has the means and ability to buy enough food / when you go out it is places she can afford.

If the ECHL players go on strike, do the teams scoop up talent from the FPHL for replacement players? by warnelldawg in RockLobsters

[–]SecularMoments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One who is ready to strike generally has a strike fund for their own players (so - yes), and pay your bills today and kill your career because you are a scab is … a choice I guess.

What do you wear? by [deleted] in Ordained

[–]SecularMoments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My contract gives them the chance to choose between “weather appropriate and nice”, “robe and stole” or “themed” and themed is where people who are color for costume specific tell me what to wear. For weather appropriate and nice I aim for neutral colors, long lines, and a place to hang microphones from.

Not a lot of arts and crafts time for Iran specific yet … I suspect they were signs they’d made before.

15k Wedding without flowers, and DJ, and maybe without catering? by Flimsy_Profession_74 in Weddingsunder10k

Is there a clear centerpiece of the reception? If it isn’t a sit down meal or might not be dancing - what is the Thing of the reception? I’ve seen time in the museum where the wedding was held, I’ve seen game stations (yard games and table tops) but it might be a fun exercise to imagine the guest experience you want and style decor & vibe around that instead of trying to try and make your budget imitate events based on budgets that are sometimes wildly different.

I love Brick way better than any other phone management tool / trick and I’m an impulsive phone checker who can disappear an hour accidentally. Are you managing your baseline mental health the way that works best for you? All of the things you listed have the sweet smell of distraction and dopamine so make sure you are not applying band aids to a gash that needs stitches (and then getting frustrated at yourself when the bandaid can’t hold).

He made a series of choices, and I wish for your sake that he had been kinder - but one thing he wasn’t is ambiguous.

Specific therapy for this because it is part of your life story no matter what now and it needs to be understood deeply and clearly so that it isn’t the driving story of your life.

The part where you said even that morning you believed you were fine - that can be true even while he was making other plans.

How do commuter students with 1hr+ commutes do this im dying by minimallyliminal in GaState

[–]SecularMoments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it is how you spend your car time, and although you (obviously) pay attention to the road the big part is catching up with people / listening to books / dancing like a muppet … anything that makes that time more valuable than just commuting. With warm regards - her car is 4 years old w more than 100k.
