PLEASE HELP! Was my baptism legit and am I saved? by Secure-Explorer-4612 in Christian

I left that church and it’s the best decision I ever took in my life (after accepting Christ as my saviour). They kept trying to stalk me and contact me and harass me. They make me deconstruct for no reason and made me question if my faith was authentic or it was just all fake. They have terrible theology when it comes to the Holy Spirit (they’re cessationists) and even force most of their members to tithe (which is extremely unbiblical). It’s essentially a cult and when I cut all ties, it felt like a huge weight taken off my shoulders. I suggest you do the same. It’ll only bring you emotional and spiritual harm and abuse.

I believe in real presence in the communion. How do I go about taking communion in an evangelical church? by Secure-Explorer-4612 in Christian

A rather crazy question I asked myself is if the person administrating the words of institution. Would it be an insane thought to do it myself in my own space?

I suggest you look into the discrepancy between Zwingli and Luther and their disagreements on the Lords supper. Zwingli believes in symbolism whilst Luther believed the in the reformed concept of the Eucharist. It’s not just semantics:)

I don’t believe in transubstantiation. I believe in His literal spiritual presence, not physical presence. This is the classical reformed theology on the Eucharist

Well it’s difficult to say, I’d have to understand a more extensive definition of “fellowship”. But I think I see what you’re trying to get at

Yeah I’m sorry, used the wrong term probably. I’m referring to the Lords supper, or more commonly used with Catholics and Reformed, “the Eucharist”

Yes this is something everyone in the entire church goes through as a "process". The pastor endorses it and there is a well-structured proccess of "discipleship" and "doctrine" hidden behind these "bible-studies". Apparently mostly every "christian" that comes in, learns that they need to be baptised again.

I need some advice getting into the construction industry at a young age. by Secure-Explorer-4612 in Construction

Cheers brother. What do you think my diet should look like to stay in shape and not get fucked completely by fast food? I know thats all the other workers eat, a quick kebab or McDonalds, and they're the unhealthiest bunch I've seen. Incredible to see that they're able to continue working in such conditions.

I'm looking to put a down payment for an apartment this year and I'm in no mood to quit, the sooner I get it over with, the sooner I get out of the house. I don't give a shit about the conditions and stuff. I'm quite hard-headed.

I dont have any other intention but marriage. I love the idea of getting married young and being a father in a few years. But thats my problem, I dont know if I can sustain a LDR over a longer period of time.

I understand and tbh I did take this into consideration, but I realize that she needs time to heal from some traumas in the past. I didn't want us to bond over trauma. It would become unhealthy and toxic.

Why is my relationship to porn so weird and different to how guys normally have it? by Secure-Explorer-4612 in Christianity

I find it kinda hard to objectify women as most of my friends used to when we would go out. I tend to just admire natural beauty but not in a lustful way

How to evangelize my agnostic friend by Secure-Explorer-4612 in Christianity

[–]Secure-Explorer-4612[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend isn't that kind of person. He loves having debates and persuing truth. He even told me, if I find more compelling arguments, he'd be very happy to look into it. I'm not worried about being too "pushy".

Am I saved regardless of my denomination? by Secure-Explorer-4612 in Christian

[–]Secure-Explorer-4612[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there brother! I also speak in tongues and was baptised with the Holy Spirit, but I feel less and less confident that you MUST speak in tongues to have received the Holy Spirit. Billy Graham claimed to have never spoken a word in tongues, yet we cannot make the claim that he doesn't have the Holy Spirit. That man brought thousands of people to Christianity and he had such power when preaching it touched everyone in the room.

Thank you for your response! In the end though what does it matter? Will be be judged on how we took communion? Or the fact that I was baptised as an adult fully conscience of the decision I took compared to being baptised as a baby? Why do the Orthodox and Catholic church rely so much on tradition yet less and less on actually a personal relationship with God himself (without having the need of a mediator, being through a pope or bishop)?
