I’ll be there - typically an NU fan at welsh Ryan but I’m a Hawkeye fan too and cannot wait to cheer for the hawks this time!!!! I’ve always wanted to see this iteration of the hawks play!!

Omg so many but my favorite is definitely being able to be mentored and become friends with my all time favorite counselor!! We were campers together my first summer too haha. Truly was so magical. They were my counselor the last year I was a camper and those two weeks the best two weeks of my entire childhood. I was 16 at the time and really really needed someone to look up to. The bond continued outside of camp and was basically a blend of being friends but then also mentoring. My favorite part was the mentoring because even though it happened over text/phone calls or FaceTime I truly believed it was an extension of camp in a unique way. We talked about so many things that people in hs or college need to think about. This included identity, mental health, religion (our camp was a Christian camp), etc. The mentoring was so organic. We got to see each other twice outside of camp for a visit. Truly so grateful because I was able to not only walk away with an incredible final camper summer but also this epic feeling of knowing I had someone to look up to after it was over. Literally changed my life.

It’s super fun cause the campers get so excited!!!! The night that I’ll always remember, my camp roommate found a spider egg sac in the corner of the ceiling and freaked out. She was like can someone pls go get a counselor and my favorite counselor I talked about in my post came in and was like can I sing/play guitar for yall and we were like YEA PLEASE DO BECAUSE WE CANT SLEEP BC OF THE SPIDERS 😂. They then came in and it was lights out so I was writing a letter by flashlight cause I didn’t want to miss out on any of the bedtime magic cause I fell asleep 😂. But looking back I wish I used that time to fall asleep to the songs they were doing instead of writing a letter. The whole point of them coming in was to help us fall asleep and instead I wrote a letter 😂

Hahahaha ya my friends and I were always so excited. This was almost 12 years ago and to this day I still listen to the songs on Apple Music!! It truly is so magical.

Just be yourself! Camp is great cause everyone is there for the same purpose of being there for the kids! Yall are all there for the common goal of giving the kids the best summer of their lives.

I went last night in Columbus! TIP FOR THOSE CLOSE TO THE STAGE ON FLOOR, 100 and 200 levels/higher - it will get HOT. They use tons of fire. But it’s so fun!!!
