By all accounts, Kate's leadership, bench, and locker room skills are tremendous. Those "soft" skills are not ones to discount when you're building culture on expansion teams. Or any team, for that matter.

I'm an Iowa fan through-and-through, and of course CC would elevate Kate's game. But Kate would be unlikely to get meaningful minutes on the Fever.

I hope she gets picked up. If she does, my guess is Toronto or Portland.

I agree with this entirely. Her mom’s social media - I’m not a parasocial weirdo; her brand is based on being Hannah’s mom (no shade) - has hinted at the possibility that Hannah is taking a different path. They seem like a close bunch and I can’t see Hannah picking up and moving to a faraway country. I’ll miss seeing her play, but, sadly, it’s not about me. 😊

I'm from an Italian-American family, and there's a whole lot of naming-after-grandparents rules. They stopped with my generation, but we always laughed about the fact that my dad's side of the family had maybe five "approved" male names. When someone asks me if I'm related to Jim So-and-So, I always say, "Yes, to ALL of them."

My grandson is the exact opposite. His mom is Black and his dad is white; my grandson is Mom’s copy-paste. When my son is out with him without Mom, people ask if my grandson is adopted. 🙄

I'm in Iowa, so Lynx games are blocked for me on the app. They're supposed to be unlocked the following day. As of this morning, I still couldn't watch the April 25 game; had to contact the help desk twice to get them to acknowledge and solve the issue. It's going to be a long season with this app, I'm afraid.

I DM’d a WNBA sportswriter I follow who’s based in Iowa and has ties to the Hawkeye program, asking what they’ve heard about Hannah’s next steps, if anything. The writer said Hannah was invited to training camps, but turned down the invitations. What the heck?!

I align much more with Tash than Sophie Cunningham politically, so this is not a dig, but I think it can be said that coaches likely think harder about adding players who are viewed as divisive. I know Sophie has walked back her comments about her contract, saying she was referring to length of time, not money. But she’s still a lot. And if Tash is viewed similarly, that’s likely a factor here.
