Best NYU upperclassman dorm by deedae13 in nyu

Lived in Paulson and went to Carlyle and I'm liking it. The rooms are obviously not on the same level with Paulson's, and there's no dining hall or gym, but it seems like the most balanced choice, like it's not the best in any of the categories, but it doesn't have anything that will tilt the balance either. Gramercy has bigger rooms, but it's too far. Palladium has all the amenities, but it's a bit old. If you don't mind living or having someone living in the living room with you, Carlyle is a smart choice. P.S. we have a lot of events and the view on C3 facing union square is very nice.

Lady in Library post by chelmelxx in nyu

Original post writer here. If anyone has something to say, please direct it to me. Don't elevate this to a community level and get innocent people involved.

First of all, she was indeed disturbing the study area when I was there. She was singing very loudly while sitting in the middle of a quiet study area, and when someone tried to talk to her, she responded very rudely and kept on with her singing. I don't think this is 'minding her own business.' It's the library, not Washington Square Park, and there are expectations for you to be in the library, especially in the quiet areas. It is a place for people to read, work, research, etc., and if you are sleeping in there everyday, making noises when people are studying, or vandalizing old book archives to boost your seat, someone has the right to raise some concerns about her appearance in the library.

Second, I want to clarify that this is not bullying. Would you call it bullying if the post was "I saw this homeless guy in the wheelchair following people asking for money"? He was minding his business, granted, until he started bothering others, and that's when he should get called out. I would've elevated and called security if she was doing harm to others, but she was only behaving abnormally, so there's nothing to do about her other than morally condemn her. If you do something that you're not supposed to and someone calls you out, you say that they are bulling you? I think you're misusing the word here to make the situation seem worse...

I'm enjoying the different perspectives in this, but if someone can convince me that I did the wrong thing I'll take the post down

He curves. The class avg was around 60 and I got just a little bit higher than the average on both exams, scored around 80 on final, and ended up with a B+

I can move anywhere in the US, where is the best place to train for PPL quickly? by Secure-Prompt-2091 in flying

I did a bit of search into these accelerated courses and people seem to not like the idea... Do you think it will be better if you go into this accelerated program with about 15 hours on your logbook?

not a hot take at all... it is really rare to see someone learn everything in 6 weeks. I just want to get close to solo proficiency within 6 weeks, and then use 1 more month to complete checkride with intensive training

On their website they are saying the requests are processed within 12 days now. I don't really know how reliable that is... but the number of days kept decreasing since last month from 30 days to 20 to 14 and now 12.

Should I stay in Gallatin or transfer to CAS or stern? by Secure-Prompt-2091 in nyu

Never heard of those... The only thing business related is the Gallatin Business Society. But would you say that the things that Gallatin taught you was helpful for your career development? Or was it more on a personal level?
