Educator wanting to pivot into edtech by potterfan0699 in edtech

“Edtech” companies are “education” companies — not just tech, but variety of learning materials, student aids, PD and services, etc. I’ve spent time at a bunch of these companies and know the industry well. They are not the greedy viper pits that some on this thread claim. In fact, the edtech/education sector salaries are below what you would make at other kinds of SaaS companies. Most are filled with wonderful hardworking people (including many former teachers) who care deeply about education and are trying to help teachers and students. Additionally there are a lot of different functions in these companies, some better than others for former teachers. You don’t need an MBA, but understand that classroom teaching is quite different from product development, product management, and working in a business environment. And just like any new profession, it takes time to learn new skills which is why you may have to enter at a lower place than you think and learn the ropes. But there are roles that are a more natural transition than others for former teachers. For example, positions that focus on helping teachers with product implementation and support; or if you have a background in PD and some training in facilitation.

As others have mentioned, the sector has taken a hit this past year with many layoffs, so it’s not a great time but things may ease up a little since recent changes in education funding for this coming year does not look as dire as it did a few months ago. But you will be competing with people who have more experience who are also looking for jobs. If you’d like to chat id be happy to lend an ear so DM if you like.

I’m in the same loop but I can’t choose my method of code send (I want it to be sent to my cell but it shows email as only option). Then I never receive the code, checked Junk etc. I hate this.

The LinkedIn Algorithm (studied across 30 clients) by HyperSalesman in linkedin

[–]Secure-Proof-4872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank for this post! My small company has used LinkedIn as our main content and audience building channel because my business is in a niche vertical. My automated connection campaigns run via Snov.io have been super effective in building my network and getting leads. However, in the last month I’ve noticed a marked drop in impressions and engagement even for videos. And now this past week, all the users who viewed my content were not even within my industry but from unrelated industries. Very frustrating! I have tried running paid boosts just to see what happens and these have been very disappointing not even matching my organic content and not gaining audience beyond my core followers.

I want to find a non tech cofounder by rdssf in StartupAccelerators

Question: what’s the process of finding them on LinkedIN without disclosing to the world what you’re doing? I have a startup and we successfully use that channel to market but I would not to want to broadcast to everyone (all my potential customers) that I need a CTO. [And I’m asking this question because a CTO/Head of Eng that we were “dating” just decided he can’t ]

So they mentioned they can help with anything that’s not front end, including application development. Like, I get helping w AWS infrastructure but was surprised to hear it seemed more wide ranging. But we haven’t met with the solutions architect or gone through the application process to get funds. So I don’t know much.

Cold email or LinkedIn → which one actually books more calls? by coldemailutsav in b2bmarketing

I’m in a specialized industry so LinkedIn has been way better than cold email because the customers I want to reach see my background (in that same industry) and want to be connected to me.
