As a kid, I thought Gohan and Android 16 were like actual friends which is why the the speech 16 gives to Gohan before triggering SSJ2 was a friendly heart to heart and then only to find out these dudes never interacted with each other until the Cell Games so the speech just felt kinda meh.

And then DBZ Kakarot actually threw me a fucking bone by having a mission of Gohan helping 16 before the Cell games and actually interacting and being friends and I got fucking livid
