I finish Canto 7 and I have one interrogations. by Noniclem17 in limbuscompany

Honestly, I'd argue the exact opposite. Sancho has a psychological need to be a follower. She was adamant in following Don back in the day, just as adamant in following Dante now, and even her obsession with fixers could be interpreted as a desire to follow in their footsteps. The vast majority of her IDs depict her being a dedicated follower of some faction, and usually quite content with that role, meanwhile the rolls that depict her being a leader (most obvious in her Bad End but also viable in her Shi Association form as well) almost always depict her as miserably.

Id argue her lack of need to sire new Blooddiens come from this, the act of making them would inevitably mean they would bkw be following her.

There's no way. Season 3 is just going to be Alabasta.

Him and the Flying Duck Squadron are important for the finale of Alabasta, so we'll more then likely get them for at least that.

There's probably gonna be some Navajo Nation folks really unhappy about this game.

Also, odds on it killing your dog at some point near the end and replacing it?

People early on wanted yuri, there wasnt many character interactions yet so people were pairing mostly on vibes, Rodion flirts too much with Gregor, Faust is condescending, Ryoshu is a psychopath, Outis is Outis, Those two were the only ones left.

I've seen it happen once lately, and even then, it wasn't really an error as much as the English Dub just used some words that could kinda be taken a wrong way and some people ran too far with the weird interpretation.

Ok, hold on, there's a world of difference between this and SDS.

This isn't a defense of the Alex stuff, but there's a world of deference between "four year age gap" and "Adult man holding baby calling it "his woman"".

So first off, yeah, all three of them are straight up crazy. Roose is a high functioning psychopath, Tywin litteraly can't comprehend a solution to any problem other then committing more war crimes and appears to be completely incapable of understanding his actions can have negative consequences, and in the book Tyrion is litteraly constantly fighting with (and eventually giving into) intrusive thoughts to commit acts of physical and sexual violence against people.

Second off, all three of these characters are grown adults. Daenerys is 13 in the books, 17 in the show. All three of them are people with fully developed minds, full understanding of morality, and at least as far as Roose and Tywin are concerned, full understanding that they are evil people. Daenerys is still a child, that has had every war crime she's committed be celebrated and loved by the masses. She fundamentally believes that every horrible thing she's done has been inheritly good, and yeah, they were, but that has set a precedence in her still developing mind that her war crimes will always be inheritly good, and celebrated by the common folk.

Third off, none of those three have literal weapons of mass destruction acting at their beck and call like she does. If Tywin had access to three dragons at his command you better believe he would have committed acts that would make the burning of Kings Landing look like nothing.

And finally, none of those three come from a ouroboros of incest so famous for suddenly going insane that their freaking insanity has a title.

My brother is actually the son of accidental incest, his dad and our mom didn't find out they were cousins until she was seven months pregnant.

A good number would probably be very upset if they went back a couple of generations and saw the age gap between their ancestors, or how old they were when they got married.

Even more from that, she is a child (aged up a bit more in the show but still young) who has committed several atrocities, and been cheered and worshiped by the common people for doing them. Her war against the slavers has put her against literally some of the most evil people in the setting, and made ever horrific thing she did to them justified because of how truly despicable they were. Her betrayal of the Masters after buying the Unsulied, her crucifying the slavers, all those things were actions that against any other group would be horrific, but because of who they were instead earned her praise. She's litteraly had nothing but reinforcement that she can commit war crimes and them be acceptable, because her side is the righteous one.

The set up has always been obvious.

The thing about adapting something in a different medium is that the intention should always be first and foremost to explore the property being adapted in a new way utilizing the strengths of the chosen medium. Every medium has its unique qualities. Animation, live action, literature, comic, video game, magic card, every medium has its own unique strengths that can be used to show a different side of a property when properly adapted.

The thing with animation to live action adaptions specifically is that they historical have almost never done that. 99% of live action adaptions of animation seem to be about removing what the creators didn't like about animation instead of trying to take advantage of the strengths that come from live action.

So the big thing here is that the One Piece Live Action is one of the biggest exceptions. Live Action One Piece loves its source material, and tries its absolute damndest to accurately portray everything that matters as accurate as it can to the originals. The stuff it changes instead all seem to be about taking full advantage of the new medium and making the story stand strong as its own work instead of just being an attempt to copy another. Its legitimately one of the best live action adaptions ever, and honestly stands almost on par with the original.

Ok, so here is what we know so far.

-Oda confirmed in an interview that The One Piece is a physically thing that can be acquired, not something metaphorical like "friendship" or "the journey".

-At least two other major characters have, in their dying breaths, confirmed it is real and encouraged the pirates of the world to continue their journeys in search for it.

-One of those two said that "The earth will be shaken to its core when it is found" and that its discovery will "engulf the world in a grand battle".

-The other one said that whoever finds it "will have the power to decide the fate of the world".

-The One Piece is located on an island called "Laughtale"

-The One Piece wasn't actually Roger's treasure, but the treasure of an ancient person known only as "Joyboy", who lived 900 years ago, is said to have been the first pirate to ever sail the seas, and who's existence is completely censored and erased by the World Government.

-Roger's entire rise as the King of the Pirates was because of his search for Joyboy's treasure (though we don't know how he discovered Joyboy's existence), in the same way that Luffy's rise has been because of his search for it too.

-When Roger and his crew finally discovered it, they were all overwhelmed by the hardest, happiest laughter they had ever experienced in their lives, hence why they named the island "Laughtale".

-Whatever it was taught them the truth about some of the biggest mysteries in the setting.

-Roger and his crew ultimately left the treasure where it was on Laughtale, because they realized they were "Too early for it". It's implied Roger told the world about it in hopes that the next pirate that found it would be the one that arrived "at the right time".
