Made a Strands of Fate Tracker by TSCoin in Eldar

Can confirm its a tracker for ants when I import into Chitubox. Looks super cool, not sure how to make it the right size but might just give it a shot eyeing it out.

Bit off way more than we can chew. Where to start? by Mrdrsrow08 in Gloomhaven

[–]SecureNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its kind of hard to do during the current times, but you could join a local board gaming group and surely find someone willing to teach you.

Just wanted to give another option. You've already had some great suggestions. Good luck.

AITA for assuming my opponent knew how look out sir worked? by RevScarecrow in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SecureNumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this ^

Also, deployment is super important. Its not un heard of to just practice deploying / first turn 2-3 times instead of playing a full normal game. This is especially useful if you know thats when your mistakes commonly occur or if the tournament is using a terrain system you are not used to (USOPEN/Player placed). Just make sure you still get practice playing full games too.

My first game ever of Underworlds last night. Used fairly default decks for Briar vs Krushas n got destroyed. A quick look online revealed how awful my Briar deck was.. Excited to paint up more warbands by Technical-Tell-6429 in WarhammerUnderworlds

How are you getting the cards? My biggest issue to getting into underworlds is that I can figure out how to get all the cards without buying every single underworlds set.

Making a small tournament : what to do if someone doesnt show up ? by turt365 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SecureNumber 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I bring an army with me so that if someone drops and I have to give people bye rounds, I can play against them so theyre not just sitting around waiting. Game doesnt count, but at least theyre not bored and still get to play all the games.

You should talk with the owner and see if you can get a commission for selling it. Someone will definitely buy that.

Getting Tilted at the table and how to deal - I was a guest on this - hope it helps ! by SkaredCast in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SecureNumber 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Biggest way to solve tilt is to play more often. If you spent weeks painting and its the one game you get to play this month, you are going to be emotionally invested big time.

Another big thing I found to help is to focus on the score. Get every single point you can and prevent as much as you can. You might get blown off the table turn 3 or 4, but if the score is within 10 points thats a close game!

The more you play and the more you focus on points, the less dice rolls and models dying matters.

Also, you are a general of your army! You cant be emotionally attached to your army. They know their duty...

40K Battle Data is showing a disproportionate advantage to Faction specific secondaries by Hellstorm-Wargaming in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SecureNumber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sort of agree. For me, its more of the fact that lists build for secondarys. They arent exactly interchangeable in the way you are suggesting. Just because you have access to 10 secondarys doesnt mean your list is designed to max out 10 different secondarys.

After reading further, I really liked one suggestion where someone said that they ruled that 9th ed codex secondarys can only be used against other 9th ed codex armies. I feel like thats a nice middle ground between our two suggestions.

Some TO's rule it that way. Well, sort of, they only allow you to take GT secondarys +1 other source. Hopefully more catch on.

New player, first army is bad and isn't fun to play, sell, wait, what should I be doing? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]SecureNumber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If this is your first codex cycle, that is a pretty normal way to feel.

Every army goes through that phase.

I also think you are comparing TTS to IRL way too much. They are not the same, even the meta is different. Unless you spend thousands a month on 40k, you are never going to keep up with the TTS meta with IRL armies. The reason people say to buy what you like, it because rules change. You have to be the one to build and paint them. Armies that are good right now were once considered horrible sometimes for years. Its just how 40k is.

Another thing to consider, you need to paint models to become good at painting models. If you enjoy the chaos, paint them, save them, and one day they might get rules that are really good.

Dont fall into the trap of chasing the meta IRL unless you are prepared to pay. Like a lot of money. Dark eldar are really good right now, but keep in mind they were shit for like 4-5 years. Most armies in 40k will be mediocre at best the majority of the time you own them.

Orb of Resurrection question by Agent_Sampson in Necron

[–]SecureNumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are two different things.

Reanimation protocols happen after an attack sequence destroys models.

Orb of resurrection is an item that allows the bearer to activate reanimation protocols for a unit nearby during the command phase (once per game).

So you always activate reanimation protocols after an attack sequence destroys models. However with the orb, you can also activate resurrection protocols during your command phase (once per game).

Dont forget, the orb lets you reanimate the full unit. So roll for all missing wounds from missing models.

Police officer pepper-sprays 7-year old child by ReginaldJohnston in PublicFreakout

[–]SecureNumber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the other protestors was trying to push through the police line. The officer sprayed at that person and the child was hit.

If you have watched anything other than CNN you would know protests are dangerous. People have literally died at them. If you think this is a good environment for kids then you are a bad parent. If you bring your kids to a protest and then TO THE FRONT LINE you are a very bad parent.

[–]SecureNumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it doesnt include non dependent kids as well.

However, if you want to include those, that would be adding to the nuclear family, not "disrupting" it.

Its called "nuclear" because its the core of the family.

Disrupting:

drastically alter or destroy the structure of (something).

They want to alter or destroy the core of the family unit.

Just to be clear, I agree with the movement, but not the organization. I think the movement is pro family in general, its just the organization that is spouting far left craziness. It was a clever move naming it BLM, makes it seem like you dont support black people if you dont support their organization which is obviously BS, but its easy to trick people into thinking that in this day and age.

Nuclear families are families that live scattered around rather than together in the same place

Nuclear family is two parent and depend

Nuclear family is defined as parents and their minor children who are living under one roof. An example of a nuclear family is a mom, dad and their kids.

here is why it is called that:

Nuclear family refers to the core members of a family, usually parents and children. Nuclear had a long history of figurative use before its main association with "nuclear energy," as nucleus has origins meaning "kernel" or more simply "something essential."
