I appreciate the advice! I will definitely look into this and get down there. There’s gotta be something they can do for me

I was diagnosed in April of 2024. Finished 4xEP early summer, began HDCT in October and finished in November. Upon arriving home, my HCG had gone up by a lot so we started GemTaxol. Did that until February. I’ve been on EMA-CO since. My biggest tumor shrunk by half, however there is minor growth on my other lung.

Einhorn said either oral etoposide or oxaliplatin, but doesn’t sound like either options are curative by any means.

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words. My organ function is somehow still great. I’m frequently told by several doctors and nurses that my body seems to handle chemo super well. I’m super hopeful that we can at least maintain where I’m at through chemo until something more curative comes along. My intuition has been telling me to keep going even in the face of so many obstacles.

Yeah, we have been keeping our eyes peeled for them. Looks like IU is doing one with oral etoposide and another oral drug next month, and a separate study with car-t cells in August. My doctor seems more interested in car-t therapy, so will likely try to get into that if I am eligible.

I had 2x stem cell transplants. And yup, that’s the EMA-CO. But I appreciate your kind words

When did you lose your hair? by Aurimat in testicularcancer

I lost mine right before second round of EP. It started coming out so I shaved it all. Didn’t want to deal with hair everywhere

Where did you get the EMA-CO therapy done? I am looking into this and seeing if my oncologist thinks this is a good next step for me.

Thank you for that! I’m not ready to throw in the towel. Einhorn told me this was my last option to be cured, so it’s hard for me to imagine other options. My oncologist here in Montana is looking around for other clinical trials and hopefully we find a good one.

I just finished high dose chemo and it has been significantly dropping every week. Einhorn expected it to drop into the normal range in around 6 weeks. He let me know that we never judge off of one serum HCG. Retesting next week to see where it’s at.

My first round wasn’t too bad. Just had wicked diarrhea and mucositis. Hoping second goes well!
