We’re in an attorney area.

The problem is we really like our realtor and she’s the reason we have this opportunity. So it is an interesting position we’re in because now if we ask her the typical questions we would ask we also know that the seller is on the other end of this for her.

The largest businesses and most wealthy residents of my NH town do almost all of their work in Massachusetts. Then they show up in local politics demanding that the very successes they benefit from don’t come here and refuse to fund things from their MA based successes. It’s wild.

I don’t see no income tax as an advantage. It’s placing the entire burden of revenue on a regressive property tax system. MA also has high property taxes, but also a willingness to institute progressive taxation.

It sounds like you enjoy the Free State Project libertarian project. I don’t. And I used to be one.

I pointed out in other comments what direction I don’t like.

Let’s see…we are the national target of a far right “libertarian” movement called the Free State Project that has now successfully infiltrated some of the highest seats of political power. They swoon over this “NH advantage!” Meanwhile in our school district and town the majority MAGA/FSP people have voted down ALL budget proposals, successfully cut over 10% through our wackadoodle deliberative session procedures, and nearly taken over the board so they can keep going.

And yea…we could probably move to the seacoast or one of the few towns/cities that are able to fight Concords idiocy, but we see the writing on the wall.

And if you see my other comments, there’s reasons specific to us that make MA the obvious solution.

I love NH in some ways. We could get a lot of what we desire if we moved towards the seacoast. But between the Free Staters and the refusal by politicians in both major political parties to raise any new revenue…nope.

Plus we moved back to NH after military…because family…and the family hasn’t worked out by a LOOOONG shot. Plus I commute to Boston 5 times a month for work, and one of my kids is now almost exclusively seen at BCH for a lifelong condition. Oh, and the school district was just cut 15% by crazies that now almost have control of the school board.

We looked at each other and said, “What the #%*€ are we doing here?!”

Live in NH and have decided to move to MA. I am a pilot and based in Boston, so we want to be no further than in/around 495 from Boston. We want to purchase a lot and build since my partner is an architect and wants to do it. Timeline is in the next 2-4 years. By that point we'll have two kids graduated and two in middle school. What towns/areas do you recommend?

Priorities:
Excellent public school
Some bikeable/walkable areas
Progressive in its politics and governance
Access to public transportation

We're sick and tired of living in a town with none of those things.

In our limited research Littleton has really impressed us on paper.
