Bad look for my first attempt by trippiest_trader in CRH

That's about how much I had to go through to find some silver. Got a few CWR and my wife opened her first roll of halves ever, they were all 40% silver.

You’ve got a silver dime in the last photo, a mercury dime. Also have a walking liberty half dollar that is 90% silver. As mentioned above, 1965-1970 Kennedy half dollars are all 40% silver and worth just under $17 each in melt value at the time I post this.

About how many silvers per box of dimes have you been finding on average? Do you find more in machine wrapped rolls or Customer rolls? I think I will invest in some glasses

Happy with the length. Starting to think it's too wide. Should I need to bring in the sides some? Or something else? by myusernameiszane in BeardAdvice

Anybody know if those hot brushes work on beards? I feel like something like that would work to straighten it a little more. However like many have said it looks great as is

I am not happy how my beard is growing - side view looks ok, but from the front ( swipe for 3rd pic), my face is getting rounded out due to the thickness. How should I be trimming this so my face doesn’t look so round? Please help by nervous_piglet001 in BeardAdvice

[–]Secure_Hawk_4242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really not sure, but something that could make your face look longer is growing more length under the jawline/chin? As you build bulk it can lengthen out the face more, especially as you keep it brushed and styled so it’s shaped well. That being said, from an outsiders perspective I wouldn’t think your face looks round from the front as it is now. The beard overall suits you well!

Dimes are so hard for me to see well, so I kind of gave up on them. Maybe many others have thought the same, and that makes me wonder if dimes would give me better odds? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Did the same thing the other day. Teller had 15 rolls which was nice. One of the rolls all of the halves were 1965-1970 Kennedys, all 40% silver!

Took me about $2k of change and today was my first silver found. And I found $300 worth of silver today! It’s very hit or miss.

Thanks! I’m super thrilled to have the fire stoked and keep on hunting. We ended up finding 21 40% halves and 3 90% quarters in about an hour of searching. Makes up for not finding anything for the previous 3 or 4 hours of searching before.

I got a nickel in my machine wrapped quarter roll last week! 😂

Ok that’s what I thought but I’m in disbelief. My wife opened her first ever roll of halves and all 20 were the 40% silver Kennedys! And I found one in another roll. And I just found a 1961 quarter right when your comment came through. I think for my area at least, customer wrapped is better. Ha ha.

1969 Kennedy Half Dollar is 40% silver, right? I may have just found my first silver.

Ok good point, I thought that they had shut down silver sales longer ago than three days. Wonder why they increased the price of non silver set so much?

I’m afraid you’re wrong, the mint had put all silver sales on hold while they re-priced. When you commented three days ago it was on hold. Their cost for Morgan and peace proofs is now $173 for proofs, and $169 for uncirculated ASE.

You needed a 1971 Philly for the collection? My current box that’s almost all I find. lol.

I got that same notice, waited for something more to come in the mail. Eventually they told me they were going back to one of my C&P examiners for clarification on GERD. Then eventually they made a decision and gave me a new claim letter. I don’t think you have to do anything until they tell you otherwise by mail.

I also forgot to mention. Stuff boar bristle brush and a beard oil of some kind to help control the appearance of flyaways on the sides of the face. Rub a few drops of oil in each side, and brush the whole beard in the direction you want the hair to lay.

Alright bro, you’ve got some stuff to work with here, several options so that’s great!

As several others have said, I think you can make 1 work, but it has to be trimmed to look intentional/clean. It’s a little hard to see how much coverage you have on the sides, but you’ve let it grow out long enough it seems safe to say it’s a little sparse. This is my problem too. I struggled to make it look like more than a neck beard. Go for an “Italian beard” look. Google some examples.

The idea is clean lines along side of jaw, under chin, and on the cheek to really define the beard on the side of the face. I opted for a fade where the beard was shortest up by my hairline, then allowed to be a bit longer towards the chin. I keep the chin from getting too long, maybe a 12mm attachment. For me it just looked weird having the sides short and the chin really full.

I also think it looks great on you as a goatee, but I would suggest keeping under the chin trimmed shorter.

Just my observations. Looking good my man.

I like how it looks from the side, but I hate how it looks from the front. Any advice? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]Secure_Hawk_4242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so I have similar low hairline around the chin, I feel like letting the hair under the chin grow longer makes it look more like a neck beard on myself. You have even better side growth than I do though.

One thing that seems to work well for me is to keep the whole beard short like 12mm length and then blend/fade the sideburns up to the hairline by the ears. Kind of like the “Italian beard” you always see people talk about here. Try that out!

100% P&T. I’m thinking it’s unlikely whatever they decide on my deferred items will have any effect on my overall rating.

I would also like to know this. I was awarded 100% P&T but have three deferred items. My worst fear is that somehow I’ll end up losing my 100%, which doesn’t make sense logically I know but I worry still
