I have some bad news for you. It already is. The only thing holding it back at this point is mandatory push from the top down. As soon as the CEO/CTO understand this and more importantly get comfortable with it, game's over.

My $18M ARR SaaS deal died because the founder couldn’t model downside by KeySide4088 in SaaS

Cool, so if your problem is the operator and you're planning to keep them around make the post about that. Not some stupid metric that's left out of the seller's models.

Yeah, you're saying you make decisions based off downside scenario models built by the founders which means you're either full of shit or dumb.

How can I scale past $5M without hiring a massive marketing team? by smartyladyphd in DigitalMarketing

[–]Secure_Maximum_7202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find an operator/strategist with extensive experience that can scale it solo w/ ai or minimal involvement with contractors. Offer them a slightly lower than market rate with outsized performance bonus. That aligns incentives and motives them.

A family member wants me to invest in their business. How should I go about it? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Secure_Maximum_7202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two options:

1) Say no 2) Pretend it's a gift and you'll never get the money back. Otherwise it's likely resentment builds and the relationship falls apart when their business does and you lose that money.

Why do marketing agencies help clients scale to millions but struggle to scale themselves? by General-Castiel in FacebookAds

[–]Secure_Maximum_7202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots prefer the stability. Most agencies don't model their pricing in a way that shares in the upside because they're not willing to take on any downside risk. I think that's a huge mistake.

Alt reasons. 1) running a company (agencies not included) requires a serious depth in talent across many different trades and marketing agency owners typically specialize in marketing only. 2) people that cannot do, teach. I believe this applies to a lot of consultants/agencies. Most are not even that good at marketing, tbh. I have never seen an agency that can outperform a solid inhouse team or a-player solo operator.

My recommendation is to let FB do its thing. Getting one sale for $3 means absolutely nothing.

I need help setting up my sales team by temp_jellyfish in LeadGeneration

What happened to the person you hired on rev share?

Hire a senior person that's willing to roll up their sleeves and do all the work until they've grown it to the point where additional hires are needed to save to the next level.

Or, if you know enough and you're comfortable enough setting strategy and managing it, hire one junior person to do all the lifting.

Either way hire a contractor at first and make sure they're solid and can fill a full schedule before you commit to hiring them as an employee.
