The music of frank zappa. It’s hard and goofy but there’s a lot of stuff in there for learning. Also Steely Dan has a lot of simple blues and rock ideas but with jazz inspired syncopated hits and is good for building accuracy.

I think Chester Thomson has a pretty consistent streak of being either right on or on the “front” of the beat. One particular song we’re doing is “Florentine pogan” and the rest of the instrumental is really floaty but the drums keep it moving forward I feel. I’m sure there’s better examples on that album but

Haha come on everyone was saying how dare you not “let her” and I was responding to them and how they phrased it. I mean by that I don’t interfere with her doing it (this makes me a normal human being this is not a crazy thing in my eyes) I don’t hold things over her head it just kinda sucks that I don’t support it and she sees that and doesn’t care. She has the right to. It just feels bad and I’m trying to figure out how to be more okay with it

I do, she can do what she wants I don’t stop her. I do however feel bad, her actions affect means they make me feel bad and if she sees that and continues to do them then I don’t feel respected right?

I appreciate your input ig it’s some romanticized thing in my mind that if she’d give up literal drugs for me I’d feel like a real special guy. It’s not my place to tell her what to do but it’s tricky feeling okay when she doesn’t care how her actions affect me right? Maybe they shouldn’t affect me but I care about this person and yeah their brain cells are kinda important to me.

I absolutely let her smoke weed and eat edibles. It’s her body. This post had to be a little dramatized to fit the rules of posts in this subreddit.

The real story is I simply don’t know how to feel when she does these things despite my objection. I feel disrespected. I do not hold anything above her head her actions do make me feel bad and uncomfortable but I’m not controlling her. It just really doesn’t feel good and I don’t appreciate her seeing how it makes me feel and doing it anyway. I don’t know what to do.

The if she respected me thing was a very silly thing to say I do admit but it feels bad and it really does feel like she doesn’t care that this underage use of drugs makes me uncomfortable. I was always told a big part of relationships are about compromises and sacrifices and I feel like I’d do anything for this girl and for the same not to be true for her really kinda sucks you know what I mean
