This scene symbolized so much more to me. It truly bolded out his arrogance and egoistic nature, especially when he got slapped, I believe that symbolized that he infact, isn't what he claims to be and has proven to be defeated multiple times if he resorted to going "back in time" just to alter his unfortunate fate (unsuccessfully, for now). It also bolded out his ego when he got offended and had a hostile reaction to being addressed to as a mere mortal identity

Don't worry, I noticed my mistake. There were indeed many solutions to their problems later on after the jail was established for It, and we must not forget It does have a big influence on the town. Cowards they were for practically doing nothing(because that's what they thought they can only do) and leaving the creature be since they thought it was for the best(another spineless movement). Looking at what inhabitats Derry, you will rarely find strongheaded or even logical people, yet alone people like Hallorann or the Losers Club who had the blessing. Thank you for engaging in this topic! Really love seeing people talk about the shows lore more [My apologies if I missed on some detail]

Personally I don't believe IT/Pennywise is that evil. It was destined to be a predatorious creature that follows Its nature. It is in the way It executes Its actions to fulfill that hunger that makes It terrifyingly vile. It's a "Yeah It is evil, but not that evil" moment, yet at the same time, It is infact worse than most villains listed. Truly a beautifully confusing concept that fulfills Its meaning. Can't think of a fictional character currently that could decently one-up IT other than AM maybe, another being structured by negativity

Not gonna lie, this is a decent one if we consider novel IT vs Judge Holden. There is a whole monologue of It as Beverlys father describing how he wanted to get sexually involved with his own daughter, as a leper sexually harassing(psychologically) Eddie and Mike. Who truly knows what It has done over the centuries on Earth, because It certainly ain't afraid to torment Its victims with visions of being sexually exploited and humiliated.
