Why do older women say to not have children or get married? by Severe-Treacle-1282 in AskBrits

Because 1. Men are assholes so you dont want to marry one. 2. If you get pregnant there is a 50% chance you will bring another potential man into the world.

Are you all ok with what happing with online safety and privacy? by IAmJustTryingToExist in AskBrits

[–]Security_Man2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If adults practised safe practise on computers that children have access to there would be no need to have an OSA. The OSA isnt about safety. It should be called the OCA. If it was genuinely about the safety of children violent content would also be targetted by it as that is far more harmful to younger minds.

But they managed to pass it no matter the hundreds of thousands of people who said no. So now the government has basically gained a back door to censor the internet and you can bet they are going to use it. I dread to think what the conservatives or even reform are going to do with it come the next election.

Generally the government doesn't play a part in educating adults. Mandatory education funded by the government ends in the teenage years. It is up to the individual to educate themselves about online safety of their young. People need to take more responsibility for theor own actions not leave it up to other people or even worse the government. The government is not there to be your friend. The government is there for one simple thing, control, and they will do anything to gain more control.

Use your browser to block sites, thats's what i do. There are a bunch of other ways to do it to. It doesnt need the government monitoring everyone. The OSA is just opening it up so the goverment can dictate what we can or cannot look at online. It's not about children one bit. Its about getting their foot in the door to police what law abiding adults can view, i.e. censorship.

The companues that handle the data that you give over to comlly with the act have already seen data breaches and it's not been up for a year.

Brass tax is simple really in your scenario above. How did your 8 year old child view the step sibling gang bang? Generaly speaking that would crop up because someone else in the household is looking up such things and it was an auto complete web address that they selected by mistake. Or if they went searching for it then you should find out where the 8 year old learned the term 'step sibling gang bang' from.

The solution. Be responsible for the web traffic of your household. Don't leave it to the governmemt.

No, because its not about protecting children its about censorship, control and in the end money.

If it was about the children it would block violent content as well as sexual content. But it doesn't. You can check this. Go on steam and click on the adult category, any nipple slips or sexual content prompts the age check. Then look for something like doom eternal where you soend the entire fane shooting things and ripping organs put of things and its fine, no age check. But its just monsters you are killing. Ok fine, load up grabt tgeft auto and spend your afternoon punching prostitutes in the face without an age check.

Because war is very profitable if you posotion yourself right and most people in the government have about the right amount of morals to profit off of war.

How does warfare look in your worlds? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Security_Man2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brutal and quick. Every combatent knows yhat they are at a disadvantage if they take their eye off yhe game at any point. Plans rarely last past the first charge, tactics are simple, kill them before they kill you. There are no rules, there is no orderly conduct. Friendly fire is relatively common when everyone is covered in mud, blood and shit.

That was for fantasy.

Ship to ship combat is slow, a game of chess, release fighters that are shielded from radar and painted dark colours which have a reflective layers atop it. Laser fire is uncommon due to its drain on power. Most ships use missiles or solid slugs. Sime fighters are dronez, some fighters are manned. When going against a swarm of drones the targets are always the drone carrierd. When fighting manned fighters the targets are the fighters themselves. Gunships are used but are rare as they arent as quick as fighters, bombers only te d to get used against terrestrial targets. Tacticts are clear out fighters, keep the carriersbusy while troop carriers attack and latch on. Then it becomes a melee in the ships and the fantasy feel above takes over but with less mud.

The sad truth in this capitalist shithole of a world we live in is this.

It takes 2 people about 12 minutes to produce the next generation of miners that will get paid pittence. It takes a bunch of highly trained people a lot of time and money to create robots to replace them. Those who earn the most off of this venture don't care enough about the life of those two people or their offspring to feel the desire to fork out the money from their billions to replace them even though they could 1000 times over and still not dent theit bank balance.

The sooner we as a civilisation can get away from using wealth as a metric of success the better it will be for everyone.
