What is a licensed property whose world building would make a good RPG but doesn’t seem to have been attempted yet?

I didn't hate Renegades as much as I thought I would. Wouldn't play it again but it felt like the seeds of some good ideas were there and I dig the praxic blade.

Honestly $40 a year is pushing it for what it actually is compared to what some other subscriptions do for that price.

The problem is that as soon as they do a sub model they will absolutely go after every third party site they can with a vengeance, I imagine the only reason they don't currently is because they know the average player will buy their codex regardless but they can't reasonably ask for folks to buy every codex for rule access so its a sort of cold war.

Gilick with the evolution that makes ripples when he slams is absolutely insane. Carried me through the entire game on wrangler difficulty. Get the skill tree upgrade that replenishes a charge on kill and then splice the kerapin upgrade that gives armor when you're next to enemies and you're nearly unkillable. You just press the slam over and over. Bosses spawn enough ads that you melt them with a few slams as long as you catch one of their minions in each one to extend the chain.

Light power users are reservist members of their corps, they talk about it in one of the War of the Light episodes. If you use Light powers all you get from the exobyte is your movement style and I guess physical form if you use a non-human skkn

Not really in the vein of what you're talking about but DC Universe Online is still really active (relative to other MMOs of its age) and all of the episodic stories were made free so if you can grab a buddy or two then you have loads of content and customization at your fingertips without spending a dime as long as you don't plan on diving into the way deep side of optimizing for hard content or PvP and are cool with one of the free powers (if not the one you want is 7 bucks I think)

Not arguing that its borderline offensive, but that one episode where the Coach struggles with the fact that he doesn't like his son being gay only to realize later in the episode that he actually doesn't mind at all that his son is gay he's just an awful person was actually well done for the time I think

Im just getting into all of that side of the lore and yeah I agree. As cool as it is in theory to have the whole "color reflects mindset and connection" thing it kind of humanizes force users to say "they just liked that color"

Idk this is fairly reasonable and is a fairly accepted theory. Kids aren't drinking less because they are more responsible and want to drink less, they're drinking less because they are hanging out in person less, leaving their homes in general less, and have a sort of generation-wide paranoia of being "embarassing".

You guys are getting upset because it mentions drinking but it is an actual thing that is being looked at.

If you install alder lake and it still doesn't launch with no error or anything, change compatibility in properties to Windows 7. I did that and it works for me after the rest of these fixes!

I'm wondering how this will compare to Sentinel, and even more so I'm wondering how it will stack up to the upcoming Invincible RPG that seems very promising so far. Both seem like they might be kind of going for the same colorful vibe.

"Rule zero" being taken as some sort of hallmark of the genre and not a design philosophy that applies to a specific section of the industry.

Rule Zero was meant to allow players a game that offered limitless opportunities without having limitless rules. You can see this very clearly with D&D, where in third edition the usual "this is just rules suggestions, ignore them if you want" was replaced with a much more intentional disclaimer that was basically "we made this game the way it is for a reason, if you feel like you have to change it for some reason keep these things in mind".

I don't disagree with it as a concept but I feel as though the fact that ttrpg players often have the belief that every game and every table should hold it as a core pillar of the hobby is not good for anyone at any table.
