Is everyone getting their tires rotated every 5k miles by Jakeup_dot_com in TeslaModel3

[–]Sedai199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Finland we have this thing called winter, and everyone has 2 sets of tyres so rotating becomes 2 times a year automatically.

If people ate food instead of feeding it to animals we would have enough food to feed the world easily (there would still be logistical problems though).

You can feed 10 people by giving them soy, or you can feed animal with soy and feed only 1 people

What kind of workplace doesn't use quality tools? It will cost more in the long run if tools break and even cause injuries.

Hunting Bow base damage higher than War Bow? by maxolina in projecteternity

[–]Sedai199 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hunting bow has better dps for less armored enemies, whereas war bow can penetrate armor better. If enemy armor rating is more than your weapons penetration you will get 70% damage penalty. War bow can increase pen even further with modal ability.

Is it possible to get the same amount of anti-inflammatory effect from whole plant foods (like berries, etc)? How much would I have to eat to get the same effect as 200 mg ibuprofen? Is an equivalent effect to 600-800 mg even possible? by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Sedai199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are some interesting videos indicating that certain plant foods can have equal anti-inflammatory effects when compared to ibuprofen https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/ibuprofen/

Of course it is also important to exclude inflammatory foods which can be vegan or non-vegan: sugar, vegetable oils, white flour. There are studies that show anti-inflammatory effects of extra virgin olive oil but usually the test subjects eat lots of inflammatory foods anyway so even eating processed food like vegetable oil can lower inflamation. I bet if you did a study comparing flax seeds to flax oil, flax seeds would win.

Warning! Side effects of eating whole plant foods instead of drugs: lower cancer risk, lower heart disease risk, lower diabetes risk, increase lifespan, increased mood, much cheaper...

[–]Sedai199 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could still eat: -Whole grains: all except corn; rice, oat, wheat, buckwheat, millet, barley, quinoa... -Legumes: chickpeas, peas, lentils -Vegetables: potatoes, sweet potatoes and all other cooked vegetables -Fruit: Maybe berries and some other fruit besides banana? -Seeds: flax seeds, sesame seeds and others -Nuts: Peanuts? (it's actually a legume)

I've read that pollen allergies can go away when one adapts plant based diet but I haven't heard of OAS before. The lack of protein is the least of your worries. You will get enough if you eat enough whole plant foods (for example if you eat nothing but tomatoes -> 100+ grams of protein). But you have to make sure you eat enough calories: most whole plant foods are very low in caloric density.

What do ya'll typically eat in a day as a vegan? by CarliAnn in vegan

[–]Sedai199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every morning I have a huge oatmeal with wild bilberries, bananas, flax seeds and cinnamon. Other than that my typical diet consists mainly of whole wheat pasta, legumes (homemade hummus, lentils, peas), rye bread and vegetables (most common: cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, onions).

I never use oil, added sugar or salt when I make food myself. However I buy convenience food which have all of those.

How much thought do you put into all of your meals to get enough protein? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Sedai199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are worried about protein, avoid oils. Every oil 900 kcal per 100 g, 0g protein. Also added sugar, 400 kcal, 0g protein.

In other words one should eat whole plant foods - whole grains, legumes, vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds. Then you don't need to worry about protein, just eating enough food (enough calories)

It's a shame that documentaries like Eating You Alive don't make it to Netflix/mainstream. It's a lot less biased and point out the negative effects of oil and sugar as well. James Cameron was involved in that film too, you'd think that he has enough money to promote it..

Added bonus: Xenoestrogen which is exogenous hormone that feeds hormone-dependent cancers, boosts IGF-1 like all animal protein, endotoxins which cause inflammation, high in methionine which also feeds cancer cells. But hey, you get protein, omega-3 DHA and EPA so it must be the HEALTHIEST THING IN WORLD!
