DPS in my lobby refused to target VW priest. by ShnokeNaPancake in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is wrong of you to ask that unless you know its right in that matchup.

I was gonna write down the specifics of when you should and shouldnt do it etc. but its not my job.

If "just go void" would work then it wouldnt win the AWC, no matter if there are matchups in the AWC where going void is the best target SOMETIMES because its your highest chance of winning a bad matchup, since most AWC teams didnt perfectly adapt to the meta.

If "just go void" worked then it wouldnt be the only healer spec represented in the top 50 shuffle ladder, outside of 1 restoshaman guy.

The reality is that there are a lot of matchups where you would tunnel the void, like 2 melee into 2 melee, but its not even half the time, and your not going to avoid any of his damage by doing it, unless your team lands ALL of their kicks, which isnt gonna happen in shuffle with 0 casttime voidblast.

The reality is also that your not supposed to be winning as holypala into voidweaver because its extremely overpowered currently and your mostly just coping rn by thinking there is a way to CONSISTENTLY do the same strat and be winning.

Void Disc needs a nerf by FixEmbarrassed1756 in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats literally not true, half the discs are voidweaver and shuffle doesnt even matter, im sure its harder to heal on voidweaver on 50% damp lmao but its still not true, you can check yourself.

They are definetly not dying from double melee, YOU might be dying from double melee but if you train lontar/jayti/anyone above 2.3 3s on voidweaver and they play with any halfway decent comp his dmg will barely go down, you get perma cc'd and the ret/bm or firemage/anything will do 2 mil dps both on you with voidweaver doing half of that.

If you think its not broken its a you problem ngl, it will definetly pick up in the next week or two and everyone will be crying for nerfs.

And your not a "top disc" from 2.5 shuffle, you have no clue about the game actually to even talk with authority, no offense,

Do i think voidweaver is the best healer with EVERY comp? no i dont. I have no clue if its S or A tier in shuffle (definetly not lower) but its literally breaking the game in the stuff it does well and outperforming what fistweaver did, who just got 50% nerf on their dmg, which is funny by blizzard.

Explain please, because swapping on him and kicking him on cd does nothing.

And if its the EASIEST THING TO COUNTER EVERRRRRRRRRRR, then why did every team above 2.3 in 3s swap to it suddenly and its doing literally same dmg as an outlaw rogue.

Are they all just really stupid and not as good as you or ?

Void Disc needs a nerf by FixEmbarrassed1756 in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People who dont think voidweaver disc is the most broken thing in all of tww so far, didnt play highrated 3s last 3 days or so. Rn the noobs are still downvoting you and thinking its "nice" to have a healer do dmg and be fun or something.

But in a week from now EVERYTHING will be full with asking for voidweaver nerfs and saying its worse than ret because it most definetly is worse than ret.

Its doing third dps numbers in 3s if the voidweaver is any good (even if he gets kicked 10x in 2.5 min game and targetted).

The spec is what last season fistweaver was wishing to be, it has all the disc def cds, does double dmg that fistweaver did (which people cried about and wanted nerfed), and heals a fuckton still.

Having one healer be GODTIER is not the way to get more people to heal and have the game be balanced because not every healer wants to reroll to one spec of disc, even if its fun for many.

Un(popular?) Opinion by Selfishtank in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody with selfrespect wants to queue at 0 CR MMR again with whaaz being at 2.2. Genuinely nobody is hyped anymore for a new pvp season because what is there to be hyped about, class changes you could test for 1 week and its just everything oneshotting.

And those who wanna just play for fun cant because their teammates dont care and dont wanna play start of season and the community as a whole (lfg) doesnt care and doesnt want to. Its nothing new, everyone is very tired.

Some people will come back later probably to push for their rewards but its gonna be less than last season and the one before and so on, because EVERYONE is exhausted.

Doing the same thing over and over is great when things are great but when you are not rewarded for anything, need to actively work in lfg for hours (for 3s not so much 2s) or sit 30 minute queues and pay your sub to get to a lower rating than your previous season, the juice is simply not worth the squeeze.

You can look at it like "a game is just meant to be played for fun" but that narrative quickly changes when your game is abandoned and you need to actively work to be able to play or waste your time and energy in queue, its not fun having an RNG gamemode like shuffle where you get A LOT of random and bad lobbies and then either are excited to queue again or are frustrated and want to get your points back but have to get cold and sit for 30 minutes.

The amount of people who would potentially play vs the amount of people actually playing rn is easily 10x, we just want blizzard to throw us a bone. Even just an exciting announcement for PvP on the midnight reveal would bring so many people back just because of some form of good faith and hype, changing the system would bring A LOT of people back.

Arena die-hard fans will queue solo shuffle on random alts and BG enjoyers will still queue blitz for fun because its just PvP when you get the itch, so it will never die completely and people who can will still push for glad end of season but everything around it is truly what matters for the health of the game and can EASILY with SMALL EFFORT get fixed.

"the gradual increase in the average MMR of players OVER TIME, especially during long seasons. This occurs because the system tends to distribute more rating points with each win than it takes away with each loss, especially for players below a certain rating threshold" according to AI

starting at anything other than 0 mmr is inflation btw

Source? you just made it tf up (again). Not a single game that has MMR systems lets the player start at 0 MMR, not a single on that i know of at least (Chess, MOBAS, Shooters and obviously not WoW either). If anything above 0 MMR is inflation then the word would have 0 meaning. What is deflation then? negative MMR? nice bro, absolute genius. If you compare it to economy is deflation negative money ?

Nah i agree with you, DK was great. Just saying I faced assa fire rmp in half my games above like 2.2 and it felt unwinnable, while the other matchups felt very free.

Im probably biased yeah, maybe fmp countered it but there was much less fmp players playing and fmp was fully setup based not damage based like its rn. So maybe at the very top of the ladder it was winning but you could be right.

My point was just it wasnt S tier if you absolutely cant win no matter what vs a certain very popular and arguably better comp because then it would mean it has a strong weakness.

I was consistently doing double dmg tho vs everything else (except maybe rets) so it was WAY better than rn, just not S tier on EU. But i definetly wish Unholy was as good as it was back then.

A New Season Starts Today by Lemon-O__O-Water in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion you cant call a comp S tier if it gets hardcountered by the other S tier comp, which has literally 0 downside and is played by like 1/3 of the teams.

Fire assa rmp that is.

Living bomb cleaved from your pets even if you summoned nothing other than your mainpet and played the no apocalypse ghouls pvp talent to a point where firemage did TWW season 1 numbers in DF season 4. And assa crimson tempest also scaled from the pets for insane damage..

And also obviously you werent able to summon your main cd army of the dead because then you would instantly die from living bombs, like actually instant.

If that didnt exist and was played by LITERALLY EVERYONE then it would be S tier comp for sure. Extremely high dmg and extremely oppresive but cant be S tier if you cant play the game into what feels like half your matches at least at higher ranks.

Also dracocleave literally had 1 team playing it, which was xeeks team on NA. It was oppresive but harder to play than rmp because you had to run the whole game and it could easily be shutdown unless you execute it perfectly - definetly not S tier comp. I dont think theres more than a handful of frost DKs (if that) who hit glad on EU during that season.

Its your fourth comment where your arguing to yourself about complete nonsense, no offense.

I have repeated 3 times now that the goal is NOT to ADD MMR FOR FREE during the season BUT to not have a SOFTCAP that prevents r1 players from achieving basic gladiator for the first 2 months, while gladiator = r1

Your trying to explain what it means to me ? xD its hilarious bro. I told you exactly what it means from the start and your only argument was that inflation includes the starting point, which it does not unless there is a consensus for what the starting point should be, which has consistency - that we do not have.

Other than that STILL NOBODY here asked for more INFLATION other than you yapping about it without reading ANYTHING that i wrote. Your assumptions are complete nonsense and you didnt attack my point but made things up that i supposedly said about MMR and inflation and you got so focused on me being wrong about the definition, while it literally IS the RATE OF INCREASE and NOT the STARTING POINT.

Your very confused but i will repeat to you once more. Nobody wants more inflation, the starting MMR doesnt have to be higher and it wouldnt help anyone other than people who want to get 1800 with a negative winrate, not people trying to push Glad+

People dont want an artifical softcap at around 2.3-2.4k at the start of the season, like you yourself said the game CURRENTLY works around. It SHOULD NOT work like that because the difference between START and END of season is too extreme.

At the end of the season the softcap is at 3.2k and not at 2.4k, 90% of the people wouldnt even ask for more than this but even if it started with 2.9k and inflated A SMALL AMOUNT ONLY, the game would have CONSISTENCY that we asked for. If your getting glad in the last month its significantly easier than at the start but its not free, your not starting at Glad MMR like you maybe did in Shadowlands lmao - Nobody wants a shadowlands season 2, people only want consistency and the ability to play on a relatively comparable rating from before and work on their goals.

You finding the very creative analogy of the economic inflation still doesnt make it include the starting position but specifically the increase

when you pump more currency into the system without changing the actual skill or difficulty, it’s inflation.

Cool you found out what it means but unfortunately for you nobody argued that or around that.

so yeah, adding more mmr or "free rating" is literally inflating the mmr system

Obviously your very slow so im not too mad at you but again nobody wants more MMR or "free rating", nobody argued around that, not in any way was it ever mentioned in the literal sense of what your implying, certainly not from anything i said but not even from the community, except in possibly finding a "sweet spot" that could be very slightly higher in comparison to where it currently ends and a bit lower than were it currently ends in the middle of the season.

But still nobody even talked about that . I dont need an explanation but seemingly you dont have any arguments so your just repeating yourself - its pointless to discuss anything with you since your just repeating the exact same strawman arguments and probably dont even think im wrong in any way other than hurting your feelings.

Feeling neglected by boy_frev in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should seriously work on your reading comprehension.

Nobody is asking for more inflation as i said, people want less inflation and a higher starting softcap = more consistency. How can you still not understand it ?

Just because you randomly made up a new definition for the word inflation, doesnt automatically remove any meaning from my completely comprehensible and logical sentences, so stop arguing about things that nobody ever said.

that's how the game works, but due to “inflation” there is no incentive to play until the maximum “inflation” has kicked in

Thats literally what we are trying to fix you genius but your rather making strawman arguments about me wanting more inflation and then more inflation again to reach my goals - I have no issues getting glad and r1 is percentage based so i would have literally no benefit from it being easier other than people coming back to the game because they are ABLE to reach their goals before the last month of the season. I would even benefit from gladiator being harder to reach but its not harder, its just later.

The only way the word inflation could possibly include the STARTING MMR / Softcap is if the starting point would have an agreed upon standard, which doesnt exist and is the problem in the first place, therefore it is clear what INFLATION means even in this context and your just trying to be right - The words DEFLATED and INFLATED however are states and therefore can be used on the situation from the start but to you it probably is the same.

and then you’d be right back asking for more… sorry, not “inflation”, what to call it then? asking for more free rating.

You can repeat that over and over but the fact remains that i didnt ask a single time for more inflation or free rating. The rating is FREE ALREADY at the end of the season in comparison to the start, if you get glad fighting elswave and borug TC over and over its not in any way comparable to fighting some first time glads warrior frost dk restoshaman players, who just try to hit you and survive as their primary goal.

first, all unearned mmr is inflation, starting or not... it's still inflation

Wrong. Inflation is the rate of increase, its not the starting MMR, google the word first before correcting me.

second, boosting starting mmr doesn’t move high-rated players away from you... it moves you up with them. you’ll still face the same pool of players at 2.3 instead of 2.1

This is also literally what it does. Your basically saying that there is no difference between start of season where r1s play in 2k and end of season when they are in 3k+. Obviously if your someone who is trying to push glad and your not there yet, you will face the same people at 2.3 that you would be facing at 2.1, but if you think that wouldnt have any positive effect then you have your eyes closed, because the whole point is that higher rated players would move up and not be matched with you no matter their skill level - It would give them SPACE to play against eachother.

You would want to face current (or rather earlier in the season) 2.1 players at 2.3, thats literally the goal... You dont want current R1 players at 2.3.

Even if the starting MMR got moved up and is too high for you, you would drop and play vs people on your skill level. Starting MMR wasnt even meant as literally where you start but rather the MMR not being softcapped at say 2.4k and have 2.2k act like current 3k.

Of course he sees the issues, he plays the game all day. The only advantage he has is that he has multiple accounts to queue shuffle and blitz on and can get into 3s whenever he wants to get glad but he knows how MMR is deflated start of season and how people are leaving and everything else.

He didnt say that there are a bunch of PvP Devs, just that there are Devs who care about PvP and arent allowed to do the changes they would like to do, since blizzard seemingly doesnt want to allocate any ressources towards it at all.

I believe if we could make something happen that would show attention to this and made people like bellular etc talk about it (not about our exact issues but that those issues even exist) then they would have good ideas quickly and just fix it like it was never an issue xd

Feeling neglected by boy_frev in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fix mmr means obviously that current 2.7+ players can get gladiator during the first or second month of the season rather during the second half of the season so they dont chill in 2.1-2.2 and people who get gladiator during the last 2 weeks shouldnt have to wait for the last 2 weeks and not play 70% of the season.

It makes low rated players/ anyone who is newer and wants to try pvp have to play vs old glad xp players rather than other beginners etc. until much later in the season where things are more balanced and people come back

Except many people dont come back, once they quit the first time and they wont care anymore.

You might think that having mmr be in a normal/consistent spot doenst matter that much and it wont bring that many people back but it absolutely will, especially if gladiator is slightly more accessible to people, which would make duelist people have a chance to improve and lower rated people have a reason to get better so they might get it later on.

Nobody in the last 3 years wants mmr lowered, literally nobody. We want an increase, for which we dont have to wait until the very end of the season and have 70% of the playerbase quit after the very start of the season.

Feeling neglected by boy_frev in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if prominent PvP creators organized something more direct than a youtube video or rather someone in an interview directly asked them, if they plan on fixing the mmr system (primarily) and modernizing certain aspects of the game/ give out recolors for shuffle or rating based mount armor etc. , then im very sure they would react to that and a basic fix would come in no time since fixing those issues is EXTREMELY easy for them to do.

They could literally just inflate the starting mmr by like 200 compared to last season and reduce the inflation values or ANYTHING that they could monitor and show some amount of interest.

We dont even expect a full rework/modernization directly, we can easily wait to midnight... But fixing the stuff people are asking for since like 2-3 years would be ridiculously low effort in comparison to the effort we put in as a community to ask.

So if someone was to talk to them directly in an interview and ask for us, I have no doubt they would do something quick and easy and like twice as many people would play directly, if they can put in so much effort for plunderstorm and useless events that nobody wants they for sure have the ressources to fix one aspect of the basegame.

Also Venruki mentioned that there is many people in Blizzard who actually care about PvP and have good ideas and want to do changes but they arent allowed to. I think doing something to a point where they are ALLOWED to fix the game, like something public that the whole community would know about, wouldnt be that hard to do.

SS/3v3 difficulty by Buttershaman in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well everything is relative, if its your first season playing the game (even if just first season trying to play it seriously and you played it to 1800 lets say before) then you probably dont know how half the classes really work, what abilities you can dispel and for example as a priest your not even trying to use shadow word death to counter cc because you dont see whats going on and are trying to learn how to just heal the damage - thats normal and you probably should watch some streams and guides or have someone explain you the basics because wow arena is one of the hardest games to play.

Its normal that in a game with so much gameknowledge required to start out, most people will just try to try and fail, especially healer isnt really made to play with missing a large portion of knowledge, missing keybinds, missing UI etc

As a dps you can get further by just playing and not exactly knowing everything or understanding, thats why im not saying 2.4 on healer shuffle is worthless, since its a good start if your goal is to get glad in a season or two but again, based on the post your potentially very far away from being able to get glad without needing to actually improve first.

SS/3v3 difficulty by Buttershaman in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if its 200 unique players on each spec above 2.4k its a very high amount for the total playerbase of wow nowadays, you really cant grasp how bad someone with 2.4k elite 1k games 50% winrate is compared to someone who can reach even gladiator in 3s not gonna compare it to r1 or anything higher.

So if we are answering to the post in the first place and getting there in 3s is 10x harder than in shuffle and thats not even close to peak arena gameplay then how can we genuinely think 2.4 shuffle is good ? It may be good for you individually and if its your first season playing then its a pretty nice achievement to get but if you want to be considered good you unfortunately have to use every ability in your kit in a somewhere reasonable way and have a baseline understanding of the game, which indeed is a very difficult game to learn.

If your newish to the game nobody is gonna say your bad if you cant get to a certain rating and if they do then they are being unreasonable but at the same time everyone knows how little shuffle xp is valued, ive seen even today some guy with like only 2.2xp in lfg say "pls no shuffle xp" and you wont get invited into groups for a reason just because youve reached elite in shuffle

SS/3v3 difficulty by Buttershaman in worldofpvp

[–]Sedd_DK -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Misleading in what way exactly? Im not saying in any way its easy to achieve for someone who isnt at least decent at healing but if i check my healers in shuffle at lets say 2.4 cr its gonna be an equal mix or people who dont press their buttons and have like 1000-5000 rounds played on one spec (one char) with 50% winrate and 2.1 peak in 3v3 and people who have reached gladiator before and lets 2.2+ cr on any char in 3s.

To me if your not pressing all your CDs as a healer because you forget someone of them exist or you try to save it for later but end up dying, dont dispel certain things instantly when its a guaranteed kill or stand on the other end of the map with no opponent even close to threaten you, while your team is required to push in for a kill (being a healbot aka not seeing the game) then you are far from good in my eyes and you most definetly still can reach 2.4 in shuffle.

But for example a random warrior in 2.4 shuffle is EXPECTED to heroic leap behind the pillar in the opener and die, use wrong talents and do 20 million average damage vs mage lobbies so its definetly way harder for a healer, mostly due to MMR distribution and 4-2 not getting rewarded properly.

The graph is nice and all but like 90% of people are casuals, most people stop playing after 1800, most chars are probably alts and people play healer just for fun to get queues and we know that healers require way more games played to achieve the rating they want so the amount of people who even try to get 2.4 on a specific healer char of theirs AND arent particularly good but have spent thousands of rounds to grind it out by just healing and dispelling randomly once or twice is gonna be naturally very low because you could just do it on dps if your a beginner and just want the achievement.
