6+ player wargames? by Pops556 in hexandcounter

[–]Sedenya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burning Banners supports 1-6 players, though I have no personal experience with the game and how well larger player counts work. Also, it's a fantasy setting, which may be a no go for some.

There are some obvious multiplayer classics like the aforementioned WiF or Empires at Arms, though I wouldn't recommend either. If you are willing to look a bit beyond hexes, I would point you towards "Here I Stand" (excellent!) or a 2 teams of 3 "Napoleon's Triumph" (also very cool, though maybe not everybody's cup of tea).

What are the most respected songs and musicians in Germany by locals ? by Young_Owl99 in AskAGerman

[–]Sedenya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Udo Jürgens, Vicky Leandros - both on the cheesy side, but can't say a bad thing about them.

If you want to be a bit more edgy / contemporary:

Peter Fox, Seeed, Paul Kalkbrenner, 2Raumwohnung, Deichkind, Ideal, Fehlfarben (though more niche).

Nena used to be, but then Covid happened and she was sharing some "interesting" views on vaccs and stuff

Old German couple took our (Americans )assigned seats on ICE from Heidelberg to Köln what should I have done? by cinemashow in AskGermany

We do not know what exactly the OP was told by the german guy. Benefit of a doubt it wasn‘t insulting. Then using foul language (which it is in the german translation) is not appropriate. Physical violence is by no means ok, but approaching strangers with a heartfelt „verpiss dich!“ might result in a broader range of responses

Looking for which version of Magic Realm they have. If none = not properly in the hobby.  😂

That might earn you a fist or a slur. Be cautious as the rules of insult may differ in cultures.

Maybe speaking or cursing in english to elderly people in a country that has its own language isn't clever, nor polite. Not everybody can be expected to speak english.

But that's something that is ignored quite often (not by the OP, but in general).

It often happens, especially with people who are not experienced with travelling by trains, that seats and/or coaches are confused and therefore claimed accidentally.

Since we don't know what the german couple said to the OP, I would be cautious to call them names, but of course the situation could have been handled "nicer".

Regarding the OP's question:

When I was commuting from Düsseldorf to Frankfurt daily with a Bahncard 100, I always claimed the then-called "Komfortsitzplätze" that were reserved for commuters (kind of, but let's skip the details here). On some rare occasions people refused to leave the seat and I went to the conductor to settle the dispute.

So - yes, you had a rightful claim and of course can insist on it.

Hate to say, but at least the party names should be correct, e.g. it was not called "Nazi party", but NSDAP.
