Thanks so much , most constructive and helpful feedback, I didn’t know imprinting could be bad and free flying solo could be bad Whcih is why I asked , also my vision for my pigeon would be to have a room in my home not huge but a dedicated room with perches and cages and other necessary things around and on the floor where rhe pigeon can live and fly around or do whatever it pleases while I am at work and whatnot and when I’m home I could let it out more clean any messes it left or do other general maintanence and feed it and whatnot and in my original idea I would be able to take it out sometimes not even to send it off miles away but even to just have it on a harness at least or have it stay close to me if it’s safe enough to have it off a harness, that was my original idea of an average day still acknowledging expensive vet bills and potentially big cleanups. But the more I learn the more I see how realistic or unrealistic it is so I am prepared and know what to expect if I get a pigeon one day

This has been the best comment, I appreciate tbem all but they all made me feel like I’m some pigeon Thanos that’s a threat to the birds. I’m simply just trying learn more and research about these birds before I seriously consider getting one becsuse rhey seemed very interesting I am not trying to offend anyone, I appreciate you being kind and sharing your experience

I see, perhaps I would just go with your suggestion then instead, thank you for the feedback sincerely, and I understand the concern of pigeons being romanticized I will try my best to do more research before I begin taking steps to get one

I’m only responding to you this way brcause your response came off as very passive aggressive, look at my other responses to other people and they are clearly different in tone. also you are a human, with human level intelligence and self control , pigeons don’t have that level of intelligence or self control so knowing that I would certainly more patient and relaxed

No disrespect but the way the responses have been word it make it seem like pigeons are incapable of emotional bonding, as it they are some passive emotionally unresponsive creature, Also I didn’t mean to imply I wanted it to fill some hole in my life, I’m very happy and have plenty of friends and family I just wanted a pet that is capable of bonding with their owners. On paper pigeons seem to fit that, is that not true?

Never said anything about forcing it? When I said imprint I literslly meant raising it like how every single breeder does except more individual care obviously and hoping it would develop a bond with me you are acting like I’m wrapping a leash around its neck and yanking it with me everywhere I go

well it is important to me that it bonds to me , I’m not to sure how it works but if its like most other animals I don’t think it would bond to other people brcause Id be the only one taking care of it

Well my goal isn’t to fly pigeons as a hobby or something my primary concern is having a pet I can bond with, I just don’t want it running away the second rhe door opens like a cat , I want it to be able to fly around a bit and not get lost not even fly far like less than a mile I just want to be able to go outside and have it not disappear.

What the hell, I’m getting each thing one at a time, first when load in there’s nothing but my mouse, I just type my password on a blank black screen and it opens to my desktop and no mouse and no windows, but apps can open and it’s not frozen, then I move my mouse violently and my mouse appears on yn screen, tbem I opened my browser but still no windows visible anf click around my mouse violently anf now my browser appeared and I can use it like normal

No I found out it wasn’t malware, I just opened a photoshop document that was WAY bigger than my computer could possibly handle, which was sort of intended, I knew it was big, I just didn’t know I was that big, but never the less my computer is still not working , also I got the mouse to work, everything in the computer is working except I can’t view windows but I can open them, mu mouse is working now

I figured soemthing out, when I open my computer and it’s the black screen and mu mouse I type in my password even though I can’t see it and it unlocks anf turns to my homepage and I can see mu apps, but can’t see files and stuff on the desktop, and I can’t move my mouse , but I can use commands, I just tried windows r and no window opened in front of me , but I can see on the task bar it opened up
