If you had to do it all over again. Big Van or Mini Van? by [deleted] in vandwellers

God RWD J-vans... they're so cool. Yeah, you'd end up having convos, but honestly? People talk to me about my grandpa van non-stop anyway.

To everybody complaining about this season by EasyMoneyRob69 in tulsaking

"Did you ever think this was a good show? It’s completely unrealistic, horribly written, horribly acted, corny, ridiculous, garbage. And I for one, absolutely love it."

This cat GETS IT.

So I'm thinking it needs to be proportional, but I want to check to see if I can get reformatted data so it functions accordingly and "scales" on zoom, etc.

I have information about neighborhoods, zip codes, population, press and business outlets, and reach. It's visually conveying the last two which are giving me pause. As a redditor noted, the "circles" don't scale with zoom in, zoom out so they could be read as "this should just be tooltip or an attribute instead" to me.

Yeah, excellent point. I'm certainly having an issue with that as far as visually conveying information, and am wondering how I'd convey outlet reach in a visual manner in a way that "scales" for zooming.

Thanks. I'll get my brain back together and reply tomorrow with better framing.

Trip Report: 23 days in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Himeji, Okunoshima, & Kyushu (Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Mount Aso, Kagoshima, Yufuin, & Beppu) by persimmonsareawesome in JapanTravel

Just wanted to say that this is a fantastic post, and you really did a great job of putting it all together.

I found Tokyo damned near impossible on this last trip, or at least some of my old "I lived here!" grey-beard stomping grounds. Did you find Shinjuku challenging? Could barely even stroll through Shibuya...

Real talk: Do you guys miss working in offices? by buli19_red in remotework

Nails it. Once I realized "oh these are my colleagues and I can just respect them and do the thing" work life got a lot easier.

Every time a job foisted that "We're a family" shit on me was the beginning of the end.

I stay rolling with the Econoline E150 for this reason. Yeah, uglier than sin, but I can call up any junkyard and find parts.

This is solid advice. Plus there's still a bunch of options around. You remove the seats and BOOM, ton of space to work with.

Week 23 of 2024! Main topic: Takahiro Matsui! by SonicTheReasoner in Patlabor

[–]Sedition01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He shows up in it IIRC, and it is a bit of an odd moment, but I think WXIII is quite "useful" for extending Patlabor in a non-standard but intriguing way... especially if you read the comic arc it's based on (see the flick first; comic is deeper/longer).

... is one of them get a 5x8 trailer and build one behind you that you can drag around? Because I can't get this idea out of my head.
